Currie was 18, Marsh is 19.

That's not too young to be in the first team even if he does need to bulk up a bit.
Currie was just 18 when he .made his debut yes! just that physically he was more mature than Marshie
So easy to ruin young talent trying to bring them in too early.
He's a strong lad or he wouldn't be in the mix.
Hecki will know when he's ready! A loan until the next window to see how quickly he copes with mens football would be ideal! he may fly or he maybe will need more development time.

If he's on our bench but doesn't come on, does that still count as playing for one club?

If we think a spell in men's football will be good for him, perhaps we wanted him to get the matchday experience but we're also open to sending him to Club A until January and then Club B, a level higher up for the second part of the season?

If he came on that option would definitely be off the table. But if he remained on the bench, would it count?

Interesting that Hackford got on ahead of him.
I think him not coming on tells us what this season brings to Marshie , he is in front of Hackford in pecking order by not playing means he can as champagne said play for 2 loan clubs ,doasnt mean it will happen though as he is making rapid progress.
Not ready yet for premiership in my opinion! it's what Hecki thinks that matters.

I would have guessed that Hecky was solely concentrating on trying to get a result than how many loans Brooks, Marsh and Hackford could have.
My initial thought was that Hackford must have done well in training.

Hackford (However briefly) has played men's football before imagine that's a factor for who you put on first.

I reckon Hackford might’ve been viewed as a better option to come on and put himself about and just hope something drops or a CB makes a mistake if he could hassle them.

That’s not what Marsh does and it’s not like we were getting the ball up the pitch to create anything for him

Almost certainly this. Hackford wants to play beyond the last man, Marsh in front of him. Different players, different skillsets, both have the potential to be important for us in the future.

EDIT: given our midfield deficiencies on Saturday our best hope was a long pass (/long ball) and a mistake. We lacked the composure to play the ball around in the spaces Marsh would have taken up.

Hackford was ahead of his age group 3 years ago. Hopefully he can kick on again.
He's done extremely well to get back to first team contention given the injuries he had and the age he had them. Could have been another De Girolamo.

Yep plenty of sense in that
Hackford was a real prospect before his ACL injury. He is still only on his way back from that injury so wouldn't expect much from him just yet.

Is injury why he went off the radar after wilder gave him his prem debut a couple of years ago?

Yes he was in and around the squad and Wilder seemed to be pushing him through.Had a terrible time with injuries,( ACL) seems to be getting back into the groove again.Hopefully his injuries havnt took away the speed he had.
Taken a few years away from his development ,hopefully he can put it behind him.He obviously has the mental strength to be a pro suffering like he has ,will be interesting where he goes from here on in.

Not really sure what else this lad can do to force his way into Hecky’s first exam plans?
Heard it from a good source that his loan away from the club is imminent 🙈

Quite a few clubs are in for him, just a matter of choosing the right club for his development. Hopefully he gets out soon as he’s a level above the 21s.

Incredible record at youth level, and another exciting prospect off the conveyor belt!

As nice as it is to see, bagging against inferior youth team opposition doing nothing for his development now.

Sounds like the plan, but get him playing week in week out in League Football - hugely important step in his development. Think regular football more important than the level, Osula would have been better off in League 2 than off bench at Derby.

Assume he’ll go end of the window, once we’ve got cover in.

Talking of young kids did anyone see the Copenhagen penalty shootout in Champs League last night? 17 year old lad has a penalty to win it in the shootout, must be shitting himself with progression in the Champs League on his young shoulders… does a Penenka, scores.. some pair of bollocks on the young kid.
Did you mean to post this on the "other" forum you are a member of?

Will be interesting to see how this all develops.
We have Brewster, who is still young, Jebbison, Osula, Traore and Marsh, who, if any will make it to the top level.

Wouldn't be surprised if we are looking at getting him on a new deal, and that other clubs are interested in signing him.

Last lad who was scoring bagfuls for us like this in academy was Lankshear who then went to Spurs.

Anyone know if he's a Blade? Might help us keep hold of him, if so.
