Right, come on Rocket Man and Rifleman, how are we looking today?
Oasis vs Blur, 2pac vs Biggie, Ronaldo vs Messi, Pele vs Maradona, Federer vs Nadal. GOAT debates are rarely settled and long may this one continue

However, this week could well separate the men from the boys. Over to you fellas Rocket Man Rifleman

Don't think the academy category has anything to do with it.

It's cost by association. Also Man City love to throw a kid into the first team and bring him on as a sub for 5 mins, because that instantly makes him a 20m player.

To say it has nothing to do with it imo is too dismissive, of course Tarqs playing any minutes for arguably the worlds best team no matter how dishonest those minutes are will aid the justification of a price hike but a Cat 1 academy and investment are just as important, because without that standard of training facilities and competition the players don’t build any solid fundamentals.

Cat 1 are: Arsenal, Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Blackburn, Burnley, Brighton, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Derby County, Everton, Fulham, Leeds United, Leicester City, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Manchester City, Manchester United, Middlesbrough, Norwich City, Nottingham Forest, Reading, Southampton

Plenty of youth players have been sold on for big money from the above. Birmingham sold Bellingham for circa £30m that wasn’t down to him playing for Birmingham it was because he had access to good facilities and the right mentality.

As a club I think the reason we have produced good players is down to mentality rather than facilities, if we upgraded we’d be selling players for the same prices.

Warm up bout to Musk Vs Zuckerberg

Even if we somehow got it done before noon he wouldn't be playing tomorrow.

Good luck with that.

They aren’t getting it from Luton and I doubt very much from us.

Not sure who else that sees themselves no doubt as a competitor to Villa is going to handover 20m for one of their rival’s Reserves!
The problem is I dont think they really care whether they sell or not. They're open to it for the right price but would happily keep him too as they've got European football and will need the squad.

I'd be very surprised if he's a United player by 2nd Sept.

I don't think bellingham was down to the facilities Birmingham have. I'd say he was likely highly skilled irrespective of the facilities he had access too, a once in a lifetime player.

Else they'd be banging them kids out like Jordan.

Note not many others mentioned above have anywhere near as great a record as ourselves at producing talent either.

Would a loan to buy not be the best option for both teams?

We stay up, we have more funds to complete the transfer. We go down, they got him back, he's off our wage bill but has put himself in the shop window for the Summer or potentially even breaks into their first XI
that would be the logical plan for us but it sounds like villa only want to sell as of now i wouldnt be against this even if it does take one of our prem loan spots up tommy doyle would be the other one for me seing as we cant afford him either

My gut tells me we will get this done.

Whilst Princey is looking to sell and therefore trying to cut costs, he is also trying to get the best price he can.

Having young valuable assets such as Archer will help that.

This threads gone reyt off topic 😆
