We are talking SUFCOur joint top scorer last season. I doubt many promoted sides sack off both top scorers

We’re fkdAn understudy, I thought he was the understudy to a first choice we dont yet posses
Offer 15m and another 10m for villa if we stay up..I was hoping it might be that Hamulic guy, he looked interesting
Great suggestion. And we could pretend we value Biscuitson at 7m or something
Well that’s going in the bucket of “stating the bloody obvious” nominationsWe’re fkd
Wrong question. Is he better than what we have is surely the question to be asked. Value for money is the next consideration. This might be a bit of a stink bomb on here but.....
If only us and Luton are in for Archer can he really be as good as we think?
It had crossed my mind. This might be a bit of a stink bomb on here but.....

Other clubs have better players in their squads so dont necessarily need him whereas Luton and us are in a totally different placeThis might be a bit of a stink bomb on here but.....

And it won’t happen for him unless he signs a new deal, and then steps up his performances either. It wont happen for Jebbo here if he's not given the opportunity. Vicious circle.

That's sort of the problem. They want a lower figure, a staying up fee [also lower] but a buy back clause as well. The sole owner's massive ego is hurt by that last part [I hesitate to call that person a 'prince']Offer 15m and another 10m for villa if we stay up..
This. It's almost pointless getting promoted from a purely football point of view. We can't afford academy players from our new 'peers' so we shop in the league we've just left, often getting priced out of those players.I’m really jealous of clubs that sell their academy players for £10m+ , especially when they’re nowhere near getting first team minutes. This is why we will NEVER be able to compete.
I would absolutely love Archer but it shows you the gulf in difference between an established prem team and a newly promoted team. We are desperate for one of their strikers apparently worth £20m but Villa don’t think he’s good enough for first team minutes yet value him at £20m!!
Trafford - £15m
Doyle - £10-15m?
Archer - ‘£20m’
Sancho - £8m (to Dortmund)
Shea Charles - £12.25m
Lavia - £10-15m
Think it’s more where us and Luton are with both money to spend and reliance on un-tested players with potential. Other clubs would swoop if he bagged 10 goals in the PL last season and we wouldn’t be able to compete.

Depends if you assume everyone is in the same pool which they aren’t, and if they know better than you. This might be a bit of a stink bomb on here but.....

Other clubs have more money than us but they’re not in the business of just chucking £15 million away on someone who won’t play. There’s no logic to this.Just seems to me he'd easily be worth a punt at the 15m range for clubs who that is nothing to
Advantage of Cat 1 and investmentI’m really jealous of clubs that sell their academy players for £10m+ , especially when they’re nowhere near getting first team minutes. This is why we will NEVER be able to compete.

Don't think the academy category has anything to do with it.Advantage of Cat 1 and investment
Why not..? Mate, if you can you tell the difference between a French speaking person from France, and one from Belgium... then your a cunning linguist. Can we still say that? (them, er, they) like Bell4 sez, we’re fkd
It would financially mate, but it'd consume one of our Prem to Prem loans, of which we only have 2 I believe.Would a loan to buy not be the best option for both teams?
We stay up, we have more funds to complete the transfer. We go down, they got him back, he's off our wage bill but has put himself in the shop window for the Summer or potentially even breaks into their first XI
True but we need to stop giving our young lads away. Remember Jebbo has more premier league goals than Archer and how much will we sell him for. Look at what we got for DCL, we sold Lankshear for 1.5m to one of the richest clubs in tje world!. Ramsdale went for what ?I’m really jealous of clubs that sell their academy players for £10m+ , especially when they’re nowhere near getting first team minutes. If I was Hecky, and I could to a reasonable amount - I'd dip into the January/ next season budget to get the guy.
Like you say, if relegated, we'd have a real asset to cover the overspend, if he had to be sold.
Of course, we assume (hope) he wouldn't be a flop!
