We need someone who offers more than Piroe to our forward threat, so I'm hopeful we're just using his name for other purposes

Given contractual situations, I would consider a swap-deal with Swansea for McBurnie (if he doesn't appear keen to sign).
Piroe would at least strengthen us longer-term if we were in the Championship and might offer a goal-threat off the bench in PL.

Here's McBurnie compared to Akpom (now gone to Ajax), Archer (too expensive?) and Piroe:



Looks like Archer would be a very good complement to McBurnie with his assists and ability to run with the ball. Piroe can also play attacking midfielder and is also better at passing and carrying than McBurnie, tho not as creative or clinical in front of goal as Archer (altho his expected assists were double what he got in reality). Neither match McBurnie's aerial threat which could be an important outlet for us with our backs to the wall this season so I would prefer either of them to play second striker to McBurnie if we signed one of them.

I don't mind Piroe's stats, but like others have said, if we're so far down our list it's probably time to start looking abroad for targets (that would also be much much cheaper for similar than what you get in the Championship/Premier League reserves)

We moved on from Akpom for a smaller jump in price.
