I don’t care how good he is, I’m still scarred from the Brewster saga. He’s going to come here and get no service, forget how to kick a ball and after a few lengthy injuries become the new club mascot. Why is everyone getting so excited?!
Brewster was just shite. Nothing to do with the service he recieved.

£18 million?
No chance.
I don’t mean no chance somebody would pay it, but I don’t think we should.
I think Villa are chancing their arm because they think we will pay anything….
If we already had Akpom there would be some predictable chance of golden times ahead due to their understanding last season but as we don’t, I think we move onto other targets.

Sheffield United doing transfer deals reminds me of that lad that represented his country for the first time at swimming in the Olympics and had never seen a pool before and took forever to finish the race.

We gonna change Bettis' name to Eric the Eel

People need to get real this is the Premier League now not the championship.

We are up against many of the best teams in world football unless we want to get embarrassed we are going to have to invest in our squad.

£14-15m is fair enough, not £18m. Jesus I sound like Betis 🤣
Why not £18m? Genuine question. He’s young English has a good goal record in the champ & scoring for England youth teams. We paid £20m for McBurnie, £23m for Brewster, £20m Maupay to Brighton after his season at Brentford.

That’s about the value top championship strikers go for that are in form. I don’t think its ridiculously unreasonable

There's paying a good price for someone and then there's having your pants pulled down.

I know which one i'd prefer ;)

Genuinely don’t blame them. Brewster was £23m and Archer has a better pedigree at a similar age.

I honestly think £15-18m is fair value but shouldn’t include a buy back in it

Agree.
£10m seems a daft offer for a young player of his level.
If they're wanting £18m then I can't see us closing that gap.

I agree

But it will be unreasonable for us I'm afraid

If Villa want a sale now then holding out for 18m might mean no sale. 14m is as high as I think we will go.
Surely a package can be put together based on achieved targets. If we stop up then chuck em another £10m out of kindness :)

In case you aren't aware that's how negotiating works, we offer 10million they say no we want 18m. We say we'll give you 12 they say 16 and we meet somewhere in the middle. That's why all this takes so long on top of signing on fees, contract length, sell onclause, relegation clause, image rights, agent fees other fees etc etc etc.

We won't pay £18m but why would this have been going on for days unless villa had indicted we had a chance of getting him.

We aren't Chelsea so that's why it takes us longer to iron it all out.
