I like Hamer, I think he is probably the better player RN than Doyle, but Doyle has more growth potential and could hit the ground running. I see it as a toss-up between those two. I'd lean Doyle, but absolutely understand why others prefer Hamer.

I know Akpom played more as a10 last season for Boro, but don't see him in that role in the PL. Look at his goals, it could be a Billy Sharp highlight reel.

Not much in it between Doyle and Hamer (and it could be argued both would be an improvement on Berge if you take the below stats):

Like you said, Hamer is better at the moment at the age of 26, but Doyle at the age of 21 could become even better in the future. If it comes down to a choice between the two, we'll just go with whoever is cheaper I suppose.

I'd personally love to see either in a midfield duo next to Souza with two advanced midfielders playing behind a central striker. Not sure who they'll be tho or even if we'll actually have any! (Akpom and Palmer/McAtee behind McBurnie?)
 
i think hecky is looking at something like 3421 i also dont think we can set up with 2 strikers in the premier league we just wont have enough possesion to warrant playing 2 up top apart from maybe late in games when were chasing a result i actually like the souza/doyle double pivot as our midfield 2
 
We need two upfront imo, if McBurnie is on his own he can't hold the ball up long enough to allow midfield support to catch up, if he's on his own we need McAtee, Hamer, Doyle types, Norwood sits too deep and as for Fleck, legend ,but his legs have gone, should have been moved on

mcburnie isnt good enough for the 1 up top role thats why we need a better quality striker to come in to do that role and in any case theres no way were playing 2 strikers in premier league away games
 
At the start of the window I said we could’ve done better then Doyle, but with the state the squad is in now I’d take him in a heart-beat.

think doyle and souza would be an ideal midfield pivot for us and would stop teams cutting through us with ease if we could add obrien and hamer plus having slimane and norwood i think that would give us 6 good options in midfield
 
I reckon the one in by the weekend my we’ll be a loan of someone we know.

Just don’t think the club would’ve made a bid, sorted personal terms, medical, signed, filmed it and everything without their being a leak.

Could be Tommy.

Just can’t see us getting something like Hamer done without it being eveywhere

The stars just might be aligning on this one.
Hecky acted very uncharacteristically when asked about Doyle yesterday… he had a smile on his face and everything!
And now the man himself has changed his profile pic back to him in the famous red & white!
He knows the club, Hecky knows what he’s all about (and that’s what he wants now) and he’s just what we need.
This will definitely lift the spirits around the club, even if it’s not quite done in time for Palace tomorrow.

It was also a very definite change of vibe to when he’s previously been asked about Doyle and McAtee when he was very downbeat and cold about it.

Needs to sign before 12 noon I think, can't see it happening. Do loanees need full medicals first as well?

If that is true could it be the club have told him to because he’s not signed yet?
