Gone Elsewhere Cole Palmer

I wasn’t being serious. It was more a comment around those who are critical of the loan to buy approach.
I think City may be up for it, but I can’t see him wanting any option to join us at the end of the season. Of course they all fall in love with us once they’ve been here.

Palmer is ahead of McAtee, development and talent wise, he's one the better young players in the PL.
He's up there with N'Diaye regards skill and creating chances from nothing.
Would be really surprised and delighted if we get him, would prove how happy Man City are at the way we developed Doyle and McAtee.

I always thought Palmer was ahead of McAtee because he was built more like an athlete and therefore more suited to the Prem already.
But looking at this, there's nothing in it.

makes sense from pep loaning him to us although he wont be allowed to play in the 2 games against city he will get plenty of game time here and could help us take a point or two off city's title rivals

We're up to 21 over 21s on the books. Another five in would mean fleck has gone for the season, we're selling/loaning out a senior player, or one of the incomings is someone under 21 (Palmer is already 21, but McAtee is still 20).
Fleck has effectively gone already - not much point listing him in the 25 with a broken leg - even wonder whether Brewster & RND will be included the speed they are recovering

Can see this happening we have two great trade references, we’ve propelled two lads right into the spotlight. Reckon Peps got a soft spot for us too.
That’ll be due to his mutual connection with CFI. 🙄

And it’s a win win for Pep if we’re developing players for him and they can’t play against Citeh …

They could be eligible to play against City and it wouldn't make a difference. Heck, City could loan us Haaland for the game and still win without getting out of second gear

I genuinely don’t understand the delay in getting loan players - not just United this time.

Surely once you know you’re planning to loan a player it makes sense, in terms of success of the loan to get them acclimatised straight away. Loan deals should be done at the start of preseason so they can bed in with the new team.

Nobody does this. Assemble squad, wait for deals to happen or not, then at the end decide who needs to stay and who goes out on loan. therefors loans are always sorted at the end of the window. Even enquirers on loan availability now, will be told, maybe ask in a couple of weeks.

Not the top teams. The big sides should know who will be in and around and who are surplus.

It’s a business though - about screwing the last few clauses out of the side. I just think it’s a short termist approach

Even the top teams. They will sort loans in the last week of the window when they've finalised the 25, and those wanting loans will have a few options and maybe trying to get perms in that don't happen.

Of course it's short term. That's the point

That’s one target off the list, just come on for citteh
