Problem….

Hopefully not as the competition comes from the championship, but I guess it depends on whether they can guarantee him games and whether Arsenal would prefer him to be in a team that isn't expected to lose every week.

Also, the article only credits Swansea and Ipswich with an interest, whereas it says we are in advanced talks and he's due for a medical this week.

Ipswich and Swansea?

Not that much of a problem.

Unless he considers the long game of being in squads expecting to be contenders for promotion against being in a squad likely to be contenders for one of the Lowest points totals in Prem history,

Our fans look for problems. We have severe mental health problems. Everything is always worst case scenario with us, a symptom of poor mental health on an individual level.
Symptoms of social media burn out

Are either of them scenarios realistic? I don't see Ipswich or Swansea being promotion contenders and I don't see us breaking the lowest points tally however much that may upset some blades

If the lad has faith in himself then he may think he can help us in our attempt to beat the drop.

Are Ipswich and Swansea expecting to challenge this year? I would be immensely surprised if they tickled the top 6 spots.

Swansea will be nowhere near promotion, they're a total mess.

Ipswich who have only just gone back into the championship for the first time since 18/19..

I think we will somehow be fine lol

I think Ipswich might have a decent season, similar to when we came back up, start well, up there. But eventually fall away to mid table. But yeah, neither of those should be competition, especially if we're buying him permanently.

The only threat is that Ipswich have a rich owner and might be capable of outbidding us if the player doesn’t have a strong preference between playing for us or them. God that was depressing to write.

Interesting interview with Trusty on Troy Deeney's podcast, certainly worth a listen. Covers transitioning from USA to Europe, Arsenal interest (Leeds were also interested apparently), mindset (missing out on USMNT WC squad), football in USA and the 26 world cup and then begins to tail off onto non football related topics.

Comes across a good character with class A attitude, which I think is key with some of the older heads likely to depart at the end of the season. Critical that the changing room has those types of characters with a potentially tough season ahead of us, need those that can stand up and be counted when needed.
