That’s a. It weak. So we got a million for DCL when we were bringing in players for small amounts in the first division.

can you tell me which players we can bring in to compete in the premier league, which would also make up for the loss of Illy
Paul Mitchell’s job that , no I don’t know anyone to replace him but with how it’s all gone down he was never going to play for us in the coming season so what was the alternative to getting what we can for him?

No you can't but I'm pretty sure the season before last he would have been very interested in signing a contract.

The same season he almost forced a move out because he wasn't happy. Yeah sure that year was ideal for contract negotiations.

Doesn't matter the fans know the owner/board are absolutely clueless and just lost the confidence of the majority of the fan base.

This is one of the most clueless decisions in the history of our club for the sake of peanuts in terms of Premier league fees.

Only the owners of Sheffield United could do something like this.

Because this is peak Sheffield United this is what we do.

We pull the rug from under the management team who have worked wonders and completely destroy the feel good factor around the club from promotion.

I have never known a club repeatedly make as many f*ck ups as our club.

Illiman Ndiaye brings flair and brings something that no one else can do we won't get anyone even close to Illiman level therefore we are even weaker than before.

No doubt we will sign some absolute whopper like a Craig Beattie who couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo.

Fans of our club don't ask for much and get again we have been shit on from a great height and don't learn and that is what is so infuriating because Hecky has surpassed anything we thought possible and now is having the rug pulled from under him.

The Prince and co are just another in a long list of short sighted owners.
Well said 👏

He has alot to thank this club for. We bought him from Boreham wood and gave him his chance, when no other club would.

We were far to slow to see it or the prince did not want to part with anymore money for wages .

Yet he's not been remotely bothered about that of late with contract talks. People need to get into the real world a tad and stop living in make believe land. We can't force him to sign a contract and we are still paying the price for people being financially reckless the last time we were in the prem. It's a shit outcome, but there's not a great deal we can do is there?

Ok:
1. The season hasn’t started and the window hasn’t closed. The fact is, people like to assume knowledge about our finances and intentions based on their disposition. I’ll judge our chances when I know the squad.
2. We don’t know who might step up. Not one person thought Lunny would in PL year 1.
3. Our first choice defence is largely ok. It needs cover.
4. Midfield and attack needs additions, but see point 1.
4. We don’t know which club might shit the bed next year. Not many had Leicester to struggle.

1. Heard it all before…blind optimism.
2. No we don’t, we now have doubts over who will still be here
3. No it’s not. It’s going to be torn a new one most weeks and under twice the pressure it was last season every week.
4. Midfield and attack was average last season…bar one player.
5. We don’t have a bed, never mind one to shit on

I'm not saying we can force someone to sign right now, but when things wasn't as rosy and no club was interested I'm pretty sure he would have signed. We were too slow.

I'm not sure this is a good career move for Illy the French league is nowhere near the quality of the Premier League. As it stands he is not proven at the top level, sure he will make lots of money at his boyhood club but will he improve much more as a player in a league with as many good teams you can count on your fingers.

Gutted but good luck to him, we move on, back to Yorkshire derbies for us next season 😟 😟 😟

I suppose he could argue that he has repaid us. He drove us to a promotion that stopped us from potentially going into administration. He didn't do it single handedly, but was the spearhead of the campaign.

Unfortunately people saying its not 13 million isn't going to cut it with a lot of fans.

It may be much higher but until anything more official or trustworthy spells it out, then some will just see it as propaganda, rightly or not.

It's OK people being all self righteous and talking down to those royally pissed off but football fans aren't all like that.

If nothing credible comes out showing a decent deal on our side and replacements are meh loans, then the atmosphere will sadly contribute to our already very slim chances.

Christ. Where to even begin with this

Should have negotiated in January and accepted 25mil and asked for a loan back til end of season just gone, would have worked out as a better deal.

So that would have to have been before the Slav season, when he hadn't kicked a ball. Not sure this has been thought through much.

Ok, you win on all 5 counts.

Now what?

Do what i am doing stopping at home . Do not see the point on spoiling my weekends supporting a club so badly run with no ambition no money even though they have had parachute payments biggest gates in the championship plus two lots of promotion money 35 million for their goalie and now this and they expect the supporters to be happy spending 3 million on signings with no chance of survival in the prem being used as cannon fodder . No thanks . Hope you enjoy it mate i do feel for most supporters on here others deserve what is coming to them .
I won't be stopping at home because it's a hobby and a social thing, but there really is a sense of apathy about United now. Not just from me and not just because we've apparently sold Ndiaye. It's been there since Covid if we're all honest. It's definitely worsened today though!

Gutted.

We’ll never know whether it was always his intention to go to OM or whether circumstances have made the move viable for both parties.

My feeling is that if we’d not messed him about the last contract he signed (refusing to play him until he signed) he’d have had more reason to stay.

He’s the best player I’ve ever seen for us in 32 years of watching the Blades and it will leave a big hole in an already threadbare squad, we aren’t replacing him for any amount of money.

If he wanted to leave and we’re brassic then I can see the logic.

Sheffield United can’t have nice things though, things like this happen when we do.
Tis true sadly.

Most clubs sell their players at some point but we're masters at selling our crown jewels at the worst possible times.

I've honestly felt things have changed in recent years but I feel like this will have greater knock on effects than just losing our best and most exciting player.

Exactly, so why wouldn't he sign on better terms at that point? If the club truly believed he would be one of the best, which the Prince is on record saying, then why not give him that bit of a wage hike on a 5 year deal? Now we would have a player worth 40million quid.

Instead, the club let it get to this.
