Ndiaye shouldn’t come out of this without criticism. To do this to us on the eve of the season is unforgivable. Why did he play that in all the friendlies, for his own benefit? Heckingbottom wouldn’t have played him surely if Ndiaye gave him any clue that he wouldn’t be around come season start.

The club shouldn’t have capitulated but he’s fucked us over well and truly, there’s no getting way from that.

So do we green from this we can’t trust our own clubs communications over Marseille?:mad:

No appetite for Akpom at all.

Archer I'd like but Villa have made it clear he's not going out on loan unless they've changed their mind.

Neither replace Ndiaye's role either.

Then again could well be bs about these two.

We've got some serious business to get done now in the next four weeks or so.

Our current squad wouldn't make me that confident of making the Champ play offs.

A big defeat against Palace and things could quite toxic from day one at the Lane.
The worst thing is that this is actually going to happen. There’s gonna be a lot of angry supporters in the ground that day… there’s gonna be a toxic atmosphere when we should be riding on the crest of a wave!

Whilst he's an exciting player to watch, he's not a 20-goal a season player in the championship. But he's being turned into the next Pele by some.
Some will still claim it's purely down to selling him if we go down. But we're probably going down whichever way we go. That's the gap between 2nd & 1st div
Not only his he our one creative spark he's also good in front of goal, immensely skillful, great on the press and works his bollocks off. I'd say he's the best at the club at all those things. In one player. Impossible to replace

Our current squad would be lower end Championship at best

Make no mistake, we are fucked.

No Illy, no Doyle or McAtee, injuries piling up and only 3 signings....one if which hasn't even got a fucking work permit.

Only at SUFC.

Even the happiest of clappers have got to admit it looks bleak.

A LOT of work to do in the next two weeks to even be slightly competitive.

I feel sorry for Hecky and the staff. Absolute shit show.

Ok he’s going, but Marseille? They’re not a top European Team in my opinion, they won’t win the French League and they certainly won’t progress very far in The Champions League. I think he’s been badly advised by his Agent. Should have signed a years extension with a release clause. Played well in the Premier League and the top end European clubs would come knocking, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, Seville etc. I wish him all the best but I honestly don’t think this is the right move for him at this time.

He didn't down tools but someone gave us an indication he may sign a new deal when really nothing had changed. He didn't sign a new deal a year ago and he wasn't signing one this week.

I'd not say he fucked us over but he most certainly got tapped up good style by OM.

Up to him though, isn’t it.

And his mates. That’s what makes least sense out of all this. IF he’s gone he’s shit on them boys and the manager. Leave the team that’s got you where you are to go join the team that dropped you like a bad smell!

Inevitable when we didn't renew his deal after his first season. Anybody that knows anything about football knew he was different gravy. The thing I kept repeating on here was sign him up now, "you sleep you weep".;You don't use your leverage when you have 2+ years on a player's deal and you either lose them on the cheap or only keep them because you are offering ridiculous terms (massive wages, release clauses etc). The big worry for Blades fans, imo, is that we are likely to see this situation repeated with the likes of Osula, Jebbison, RND, Anel and various other young players. We haven't heard of contract renewals for ANY of our best young assets yet. It's sickening when you see them leave on the cheap as what is likely follows is an on pitch decline. Getting good deals and managing contacts well is imperative for a club like us.

Given the above there is a salient argument that the Everton deal should've been seriously considered. 25 million plus add ons to sign long term players that finish the job vs whatever we've got now and Ndiaye until the end of the season, seems to have been the trade off. If we've cashed in on Ndiaye now it seems pointless to turn down reasonable bids for anyone with a year left. Operation rebuild is the order of the day. Young players with resale value who can help us bounce back from likely relegation. Akpom is the opposite of that approach and screams desperation (if there's anything in it). We should be expecting these young, high quality youngsters they were telling us were abundant when Wilder was manager. Let's be having them.

Disappointing but I would never want a player at BDTBL that doesn’t want to be there anymore.

I support the club. And only the club.

Assuming OM are prepared to pay what we’ve asked for, I wish Illi all the best.

I look forward to seeing how we evolve as a team. It’s never dull being a Blade and I fucking love it that way.

TBF my Mrs is more gutted than I am because Illi’s a “lovely young man” 😂

Ooo you negative nelly 😄

The greater the odds, the greater the glory next season....😉
