Yeah, agreed. Played quite well in all those games in that second season from what I recall. Was probably our best player before getting injured (slim pickings admittedly). It was at the point where we were unlucky to be losing a lot of the games.

He was quality yesterday against extremely technical and organised opponents who did well in La liga and took points off Madrid.

He was comfortably our best player but along with him Anel, Egan, Slimane and a couple of the young lads also looked like they were getting up to speed ready for the off.

My point being, if we hold onto him and lose him on a free next Summer we will have lost the opportunity to adequately replace him with the transfer fee we would have received if we were to sell now.

You cant replace Illy with 15 million-
