Can Collins play with one of those Phantom-of-the-Opera mask type thingies?
Otherwise Forum Footy players had better clean their boots.......
I guess that puts Williams in as first choice left back - he did OK defensively on Saturday but his distribution and composure were woeful.
That leaves Kennedy as first choice CB cover which is fine but we have no LB cover now until LJF is back - unless Aaron Barry is capable of playing there (can any of the academy watchers shed any light? DazBlade88, Foxy, Bergen Blade ?)
Get Jon Harley in for a month!
How much bad luck can one team have....oh yeah, I am a Blade - sorry for the absurd Q...
But given there's only Williams (roll eyes) how good is Kennedy (I've not seen him)?
Or is Danny gonna dip into the market again?
UTB
Wasn't Tonne originally a left back when we bought him? Have we ever tried him there? At least he is good on the ball and can possible make a good partnership with Flynn both defensively and offensivelyBarry used to play there during the FA youth cup run, but is more at home at centre half. I think he's right footed as well. Wilson has shown a lot of faith in Williams this season, so I expect him to play. Unless Jean-Francois has had a set back I think we should avoid bringing in more short term loans.
It would be good if we started to take up more (any) opportunities to involve the youngsters. What was the point in putting Richard Cresswell on a couple of minutes before the end on Saturday? Erik Tønne got a welcome spot on the bench and if he'd been given a couple of minutes I'm sure he would have been slightly more ready mentally to do a job on a later occasion.
When substitutions are made primarily to waste time or to take off a tired player, use a youngster who's dying for a cameo, not just old Cresswell or Williams because they are senior members. Kennedy hadn't played a single minute of first team football in 2012 before he had to start at Doncaster. The next injury crisis may be at left midfield and by now we've learned that Williams, Cresswell and McAllister (I know he's gone now) are rubbish there, so if Wilson wants Tønne to stick around, don't waste opportunities to make him prepared.

Must be said, I do wonder why we even have Tonne if Danny 'refuses' to play him. Given he has more experience than Kennedy, wouldn't it be better as a kind of 'lesser of two evils' to give Eric the Viking an opportunity? He used to be a very attacking left back (scored a lot of goals, although not at a great level), but hasn't played there at all since he joined.
I'll take that. Anything better than relying on MW!!Danny Higginbotham has played with distinction in the Premier At LB. I suspect that will happen when Collins returns.
'refuses to play him' or has not shown in training or in the U21 games that he is good enough ?Must be said, I do wonder why we even have Tonne if Danny 'refuses' to play him. Be interesting to see what develops here...

Why do our defenders keep breaking their faces?
Amen mate.. i thought sticking Kennedy for such an important game when previously he 'wasn't quite ready for first team action' was a bit rich tbhKennedy hadn't played a single minute of first team football in 2012 before he had to start at Doncaster. Didn't Wilson question Tonne's attitude at the AGM?
His fitness isn't good enough apparently. Which you might speculate, for a lad of his age, is attitude related.
Don't suppose he helped his cause by tweeting about training on Christmas Eve either.
Norwegians celebrate on Christmas Eve, rather than Christmas Day. I think he had his family over, so no doubt he'd have prefered to stay at home. I think it's understandable to feel that, maybe even tweet that training on the 24th is a unusual thing for a Norwegian to do. Obviously if he's been sulking about it and not given 100% it is totally unacceptable, but that would just be speculation and probably an unfair assumption unless it's based on more than that tweet.
