What's your dullest anecdote about meeting a footballer?

Howard Kendall also used to live there (Dronfield Woodhouse Hall). Just across the road from Mel Sterland and his famous garage.

Went in Myers Building Supplies in Penistone last Friday. Paid for some timber, then went into the warehouse at the back to collect it. Bloke getting it for me was the spit of Chris Morgan. I know Morgan comes from Penistone, so I guess there's a fair chance it's one of the Morgan clan. Was gonna say something to him, but fortunately, just in time, one of my remaining brain cells said to me 'Don't be a cunt'......

(Meeting a manager)Driving around Bakewell a good few years back and see Danny Wilson mowing his front lawn. Rolled down the window, said hi and we moved on.

My cousin was a football nut ( bless him hes dead now). He was in Rotherham hospital a few years back on the mens ward.
During the night my cousin was shouting out football teams in his sleep. He was a big Millers fan. The next morning all the men on the ward got to chatting with him about all our local teams in the area. Because he was quite knowledgable they were asking him who he thought was the best playerover the years for each of the 5 local teams.
They got to that lot over in S6. Our Trev without hesitation said Jim McCalliog. They asked him why. He said he could score with either foot and his head. He was a great athlete etc. The guy in the next bed to him said 'How did he compare to Dave Cusack?'
Our Trev, gave him a withering look and said 'Dave Cusack!!!!!! hes not fit to lace McCalliogs boots'
There was a pregnant pause.
And then the guy in the next bed said 'Im Dave Cusack'

The rest of the ward fell about laughing. To be honest Cusack took it very well. He was laughing just as loud.
He was in because of a neurocognitive brain disorder which results in severe short-term memory loss. Caused by the result of constant head traumas when heading old fashioned heavy footballs. Poor guy.

In the petrol station on Bramall Lane yesterday, I was in the queue to pay behind Chris Basham and in front of Jack Robinson. They were buying snacks and drinks for the coach to Chesterfield. Both drive BMW's.

Whereabouts? He’s lived at Old Brampton in Chesterfield for at least 30 years, only had 2 houses in that time as well, the one he moved out of a few years ago was behind a huge wall and down a long drive and his current one is behind big electric gates.

I used to play football with his son as a kid so have been to the old one for birthday parties.

Met Matt le Tissier at Cheltenham festival and that’s a FallowfieldFact for you

Did everyone feel a disturbance in the force as two of the galaxy's vastest masses of bellendry swung briefly by each other's orbits?

I bet the lights flickered at said festival, dogs barked, horses bolted and there was a clap of thunder.

I met Le Tissier in my old job, along with Merson and Phil Thompson. He was by far the most sound out of the three. Merson was a mess at that point. Le Tissier was very open about his career, also talked about our 1994 relegation and how suspicious it all was.

It’s very surprising, every time I see him now I still can’t believe it’s the same person chewing my ear off about the managerial masterclass of Lawrie Mcwhatshisname and how much Terry Venables hated him. Over a few bottles of Budweiser.

We had a good chat actually Portsmouth

We spoke about our all powerful overlords and how they are trying to control society through various means

Much like yourself trying to control this forum

It's not me telling Foxy and Linz what constitutes an infraction Fallowfield, and trying to goad people into getting themselves banned

You've heard of the term 'gaslighting' haven't you?

Maybe he was mowing someone else's lawn. Times must be hard since he got the Spanish archer from Chesterfield.

Can you two get a room? You'll end up spoiling another decent thread for everyone else.

He @‘d me birdwell he won’t leave me alone

I’m looking at an online restraining order for him if that’s possible

It’s verging on weird

I was in the Nike shop with my mum at York Designer Outlet last week, she said she saw Hecky walk right past us but I didn't notice him.

Hmm if Le tissier thought our relegation was suspicious that’s pretty much verifiable fact that there was absolutely nothing untoward about it!

Not trying to control the board. At all.

Just telling people what they can and can’t say or chant

And colluding to get people reported

Also threatening to reveal posters identity and IP adress

Completely normal behaviour from a regular forum member

Haven't done this. If you can show me where I'll be grateful.

And colluding to get people reported

This neither. I don't collude. I just report people. Mainly you these days.

Also threatening to reveal posters identity and IP adress

Haven't done this either, despite repeatedly assuring you I won't. By the way, another poster may have a lot more on you than you may be comfortable with. It was they who outed you to me (off the board, by the way). As said, I'm not interested in revealing anything about you. Your identity is of no real interest to me. I'm content to just be ITK.

Completely normal behaviour from a regular forum member

It is, because I haven't done any of the above.

Absolutely hilarious you’ve just done it again

“ By the way, another poster may have a lot more on you than you may be comfortable with”

As I said send me a DM with my initials and if you’re right I’ll buy you a pie at the palace home game 🤣🤣

I'm not backchannelling you anything lad. I only do that with people I like.

Just be content that I and a few others have the measure of you (and as said, I'm unsurprised)

Now, move on and stop being a silly boy

How have you got the measure of me ? And how are you measuring that ?

It’s a football forum 🤷‍♂️
