Anyone heading to reading?

Well, if we take enough fans we'll create our own atmosphere and I don't buy the consensus that we'll get battered. I think we're good enough to get at least a draw. Can't argue with your last point though. Football in general is indeed a waste of money.

the last few away games at reading have been entertaining and lots of goals.
0.0 wrote all over it,then a televised replay at the lane with a penalty shoot out defeat.
Again.

I'm not heading to reading
It does me ead in I wouldn't be seen dead in
It

the thing is if we had been pulled out to face Man City/United away you'd all be up for it and praising the magic of the FA cup, now that we've got Reading no ones interested and it's a waste of money!
I reckon it would be a great chance for our squad to claim a nice scalp against premier league opposition, especially with Readings in-different form! Yes poor atmosphere and another lego built ground but I know one thing, Blades know how to make some noise.
I'll be there, and I believe we will be in the hat for the 5th round! UTB!!!

I wouldn't. I wanted Aldershot away.

Or Brighton. Or Southend.

All through the draw it was "no", "no", "Christ, I don't want to go there again", "please no", "shit, it's Reading".

Stung for parking, no bloody boozers and face-ache miserable chuffin' stewards. Marvellous.

It's a definite no at the moment although I'm sure I might waver if it looks like we're taking a few and we've beaten Yeovil, Notts Co and Bury.

Not expecting us to win but don't buy 'we'll get battered' - would you definitely swap Blackman and Murphy for Le Fondre and Noel Hunt?

Add me to the list of people that doesn't think we'll get battered. Don't care much for te club, town or ground, but at least it's not far to travel for me, and it means we can have post match beers in The Harp, covent garden.

and why the fuck would we want to do that? Any nostalgic view of 'how it used to be in HQ' is long gone. They are now much more interested in their CAMRA/tourist trade than a bucketload of free-drinking northerners.

Incredibly, we've won 3 in a row down there (1-0, 3-1, 3-2). A big ask to get anything this time, though.

Before the stadium building boom commenced, Simon Inglis used to call Elm Park "the least interesting ground in the league". Amazing that they've managed to produce an even more boring matchday experience with the new ground.

Pretty much my thought process there Linz, though surely you'd prefer the lack of boozers given it'll be three days before the end of your dry-athlon?

Me too: Reading will be focussing on staying in the Premier league and won't put out a full side. There's also a cracking pub in the town centre opposite the station which makes getting to the ground easy too.

As it's 5 miles from my house I'll be going. In Reading's defence their support has got less annoying since they were relegated. Almost all the know-nothing plastics dropped off and it got back to a decent set of local supporters. The ground is still incredibly quiet though when I've been to the odd match in recent seasons.

When did they move the Harp to Covent Garden?

Boy things have changed since I lived down there ;)

We were warned that they wouldn't allow united shirts in after the play off final.

Was never like that in my day.

If they do a decent price offer, which I think they might well do, then I'll go, It'll pay for a taxi in and out of town where I'm sure I'll find something worth drinking.

Only just returned from a booze fuelled weekend in Reading, after travelling to Oxford to watch the blades. I cant believe we have drawn Reading away, meaning I will most likely have to do it all again. I always enjoy my trips to Reading. The most memorable being two seasons ago when we were 2-0 down and basically relegated. We came back to beat a very strong Reading side 3-2. I then got bladdered, yes!

exactly. they were happy when we were mob handed drinking them dry, we even used to get lock ins regularly 'back in the day'.

I don't think the 'Pope is in a coma' incident helped us very much though...

Well, we were waiting for Match of the Day to start, and he was taking an age to shuffle off. It was an important MotD too, the one when Keiron Dyer and Lee Bowyer had that punch up.

I'll be going, only as it's easy to get to for me, which basically means it takes me less than 2 hours to drive there!
