I do think that you are on the wind up 99.9% of the time, but do you have anything positive to say about the club? anything at all?

  • We are back in the prem - the best league in the world
  • Increased attendances and fan base home and abroad
  • We are now financially secure
  • A takeover is likely to happen over the next few months
  • We are signing young exciting players without overspending and risking another financial disaster
  • The club have offered as much as they can for Illi to extend his stay with us - we cannot do any more than that
  • Packed BL for next season with additional income and hopefully an atmosphere that will be amazing
  • Season tickets fairly priced
  • World super stars on show at the Lane

I could go on, but do you not agree that it will be an exciting season and have you anything positive to add to that ? - and I don't mean to counter what I've listed.
That’s made me feel great 👍

They are a positive if we use them positively....!

How at this moment in time are we stronger than last season? We are weaker now in terms of squad numbers, (not that i disagree with those released) and if/when Illiman leaves we will be significantly weaker..
First prem game this Saturday is it? I must have slept for a month.

Yes I realise that point now. I missed it at first but is it any wonder. I mean in what universe are Marseille paying £10m for a player they can’t have for 12 months who they can have for nothing at exactly the same time.
Like I said, I don't think this will happen. But to answer your question, it may be worth it for Marseilles as 1) It locks him into going there rather than elsewhere 2) His wage demands may jump massively in twelve months if he has a great season, 3) A year in the PL will likely increase his value quite a bit and 4) They may think he needs another year to develop with before he's ready to play for them.

At the moment if you’re feeling positive about the season and how it’s shaping up that’s bonkers bordering on deluded. You’ve even got Billy saying the club aren’t allowing Hecky to keep the players he wants to keep.
So that's a 'no' then ?

A) £10m means fuck all to me. I have little confidence in us using it to sign anyone 1/100 as good as Ndiaye is to watch.

B) Staying up is worth a lot more and our chances are massivley improved with Iliman in the team.

Even if we go down, a place is worth an extra £2m. If we’re selling him for £6m, we may as well keep him and see if we get 18th place. Only a £2m loss.

We could crowd fund £2m

I agree and so would every other Blade. Trouble is, how do you keep an unhappy player (that wants out) permorming at his best? Illi strikes me as someone than wouldn't sulk and down tools, but you can never be sure of that.

Unless OM or any other club offer £25m to £30m then it's not in our interest to sell and worth nothing to us. Keep him here, see if he performs. We will get a fee for him next year even if he leaves on a free - albeit, not a large amount.

I love my club, I love watching matches, I love being the underdog in the premier league, I love getting new players, we have players who care, we play good football.

Ndiaye going would be gutting, but it wouldn't affect any of the above.

Ndiaye is a huge part of us ‘playing good football’. Him going changes our whole style.

We cannot play the same style without him, which by the way wasn’t ‘good’ in numerous games last season. Away from home it was usually very defensive, rigid long ball.

You’re obsessed with me
You'd like that wouldn't you?

Sorry to disappoint.

I know where we stand with you now if you can't answer a simple question and have nothing positive to say about the club you supposedly 'support' 🤣

Conversation over :)

You’ve double texted me to get my attention, it’s really cute.

I have plenty positives to say, but don’t feel like bringing them up lately as they’re being outweighed due to our financial situation. Believe it or not.

I'm prepared to actually wait and see who will be playing before I write us off. Dosen't seem like a lot to ask.

I'm not writing us off. I'm just saying that at this moment in time, 4 weeks away, we are weaker than we were when we finished last season....which is fact!

Our financial situation is simply the reality in which we have to operate at the moment. You have to do the same in your day to day life.
You can curl up and whimper or put your big boy pants on and work to improve your financial situation or at least utilise the resources you do have to your maximum benefit.

...and as relevant to the Palace game as last months copy of The Beano.

I really don't understand this, what's the difference between playing the likes of Bournemouth, Luton, Burnley, Brighton, Palace, Wolves etc. To playing against, Lens, Reims, nice etc. Yes the quality of player is better in the premier League because of the money available, but let's not kid ourselves into thinking that the premier League has got 20 teams who players say that they would love to play against compared to other leagues. Realistically there's the top 8, (villa and Newcastle included) the rest are just run of the mill teams that every league has.

Like you say, he gets to play champions league, play against, Lyon, Monaco, PSG etc and it's his boyhood team.
Let’s be right, this years Premier League will contain Luton, Burnley, Brentford, Bournemouth…

The likes of Marseilles, PSG, Lyon, Lens, Lille, Nantes all get more than 30k watching them. Rennes, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Nice all more than 20k. Reims got to two European Cup Finals in their history (lost both the Real Madrid).

My point being theses are not tinpot clubs either and whilst PSG have made a mockery of the league with their financial doping, there are some decent, well supported clubs in there.

I do however note my pet hate of ‘playing in Europe’.

There is limited attraction to either getting spaffed on by better teams or beating a group of Luxembourg waiters, so uneven is the competition. I digress.

I think it would be a good level for him. He could become a star of that league.

But I’d rather be didn’t!

I think everyone on this forum would love to see Ndiaye stay. Some of us will still enjoy supporting the team whatever happens though (even if we do get relegated). Chin up, hey!
