He's leaving on a free at the end of the season

You think it's a bad deal to get £10 million for him and he plays for us this season?

Explain your workings. Baring in mind he's leaving on a free at the end of the season.
Because if he helps keep us up that £10million will be peanuts compared to the next payment from the Premier League for remaining in the Premier League

Marseille banking on the fact he supports them, putting feelers out in the media to try and unsettle him and get him on the cheap. Anything under 20 mill is laughable. Under 10 is insulting. I don't think they have the kind of money that would tempt us to sell
They can’t afford him and we can’t afford to let him go. If he keeps us up this season we are quids in for next season even if he walks away on a free.. He might even want to stay the following year when he sees Marseille knocked out of the champions league at the first hurdle

Wow...4 and a bit weeks until the start of the season and we are significantly weaker than last season...
Really. We've shed Stevens off the pay roll and released a legend who wasn't going to do a thing in the prem. Those wages now available are a positive.

A) £10m means fuck all to me. I have little confidence in us using it to sign anyone 1/100 as good as Ndiaye is to watch.

B) Staying up is worth a lot more and our chances are massivley improved with Iliman in the team.

Darren said £6M to £8M
Too many people hanging on El Accounto's words. He doesn't know whats going on. He gave an opinion on what he thought OM might offer. I could say the same with as little knowledge as he has. I'll go with £10 million. Its as ill informed an opinion as his. OM haven't contacted the Club yet.

As others have said this is just bluster put out by journalists on behalf of OM to try and unsettle the Club and player. I have confidence in the Prince that Ndiaye is going no where with those figures in mind.

robbiez666's scenario has him playing for us next year (loaned back to us from Marseilles for a season as part of a deal). I like the idea and think it could be constructed in a way that could work well for everyone. I doubt it will happen though.

So, we have a player who can leave at the end of the season on a free. He is not signing a new contract.

Or we could sell him for £10 million and he comes back on loan to us for a season

How is that not a good deal?
Where has this loan back come from?

How much would QPR want for Ilias Chair?

Shame to waste those Ili chants!

But seriously, not a bad player.

Lose Ndiaye having had him with only a year to run and replace with Chair with 4 years to run.

Just thinking damage limitation here.

Apart from Traore who seems to be coming regardless, who would we look at to replace him? Do we replace him or try something different?

Does it create an opening for Archer or Diallo on loan or even perm?

That doesn’t make us stronger

No Doyle, no McAtee.
They were on loan. Nothing we could do about that. The club is doing everything it can in that area. Why not wait until the eve of the Palace game and see what the squad looks like before doing big drama.

Yes I realise that point now. I missed it at first but is it any wonder. I mean in what universe are Marseille paying £10m for a player they can’t have for 12 months who they can have for nothing at exactly the same time.

The argument will be, 'there's nothing we could do to stop him fulfilling his dream of signing for his boyhood club and he is in the last year of his contract, blah, blah, blah.'

Well that argument cuts two ways.

Surely it means there's nothing stopping us signing Kyle Walker?
I'd say there are north of 100,000 very good reasons.

I do think that you are on the wind up 99.9% of the time, but do you have anything positive to say about the club? anything at all?

  • We are back in the prem - the best league in the world
  • Increased attendances and fan base home and abroad
  • We are now financially secure
  • A takeover is likely to happen over the next few months
  • We are signing young exciting players without overspending and risking another financial disaster
  • The club have offered as much as they can for Illi to extend his stay with us - we cannot do any more than that
  • Packed BL for next season with additional income and hopefully an atmosphere that will be amazing
  • Season tickets fairly priced
  • World super stars on show at the Lane

I could go on, but do you not agree that it will be an exciting season and have you anything positive to add to that ? - and I don't mean to counter what I've listed.

At the moment if you’re feeling positive about the season and how it’s shaping up that’s bonkers bordering on deluded. You’ve even got Billy saying the club aren’t allowing Hecky to keep the players he wants to keep.

Arsenal's opening offer for Ramsdale wasn't much more than we paid Bournemouth for him (£13m). They'll end up, if all goes to plan, paying us over double.

I would imagine that the conversation is along the lines of "you can go, Ili, if Marseille meet the asking price. Tell your agent that we'll talk if the figure is £20m or above but that anything below that will get rejected."

They are a positive if we use them positively....!

How at this moment in time are we stronger than last season? We are weaker now in terms of squad numbers, (not that i disagree with those released) and if/when Illiman leaves we will be significantly weaker..
