Do Napoli win the title, or Argentina win the World Cup without Maradona! No is the answer.
So one player can definitely make the difference. And Ndiaye definitely makes a difference to us. He’s our best player by a country mile and can not be replaced.
If he’s forcing a move… then what can we do, our hands are tied.
But the point was… special players transform a team.
And do Napoli win the title and do Argentina win the World Cup if Maradona is surrounded by average players?

You do not simply replace the only thing that is remotely close to a genuine attacking threat at Premier League level for 20 million. We have no midfield post-Berge, a hole at left defence so wide you can drive a bus through it and our next best options up top are "always injured" Brewster, "not ready" Jebbison and "just shit" McBurnie. If we sell for anything less than eight figures more than our record fee received this instantly goes down as our worst bit of business in club history

Who was our attacking threat last time we were there?

Compared to the talent at the other clubs/int teams (especially in Italy) he was surrounded by average players!

Now It is being said we have offered Ndiaye a much improved contract?

Which T-Blade confirmed a couple pages back.

Romano is wrong on this one fam, Ndiaye ain't going anywhere this window.

Now let's relax, enjoy Iliman while we have him and UTB 🔥
I have just seen struggling to keep up with the comments.

Happy days if Ndiaye stays he is worth the entry fee alone.

Who was our attacking threat last time we were there?

Good point. The closest thing we had was Mousset. The difference is that we had an incredibly stable two banks of three in defence/midfield, on top of very good wing backs. We stayed up because we only conceded 39, not because we scored 39. Right now out of that back eight we have Berge and Anel who are better than what we went up with. Maybe Egan and Baldock have not regressed. But 19/20 Fleck, Norwood, Stevens and JOC are miles better than what we have right now. An attacking threat wasn't so much of an issue because we were extremely solid defensively. Stepping up, we are anything but as of right now

I’d start at £50 million. Why not? Start high, but history shows this isn’t the Blades way. Declan Rice is a good player but £100 million? The worlds gone mad. I’d love it if Illy stays but if a player wants to move we need to move them on. I’m not saying that Illy is the kind of lad who’d mope around, he’d still give his all I think but I myself wouldn’t begrudge him the move. I felt like this after we sold Deane, Michael Brown, Don Hutchison, Harry Maguire etc. It’s shitty for a while but our club continues. replacements will hopefully be brought in that strengthen the team as a whole for the battle to come. We’ll be ok.

So, this info comes from the fabulously reliable Fabrizio Romano…the one who said we were definitely signing Yann Karamoh from Parma, Alex Collado from Barca and Ismael Kone from Canada. Forgive me if I say, I’ll believe it when I see it.

But I don’t really mind too much if we do sell him now. As it stands he’ll sign a pre-contract with OM in January, go off to AFCON and saunter back to us in February with his heart set on playing his damnedest at 100% commitment to keep us up…? Nah, I can’t see that happening either.
In his defence all were true. He’s can’t close the deals.

It does make me wonder if the new contract rumour is a way to keep the fans on side should he leave.

No doubt Hecky or the Prince would say something along the lines of………“We wanted to keep Ndiaye and made him an offer which would make him the highest paid player in United’s history, but he wanted to leave”

Do we have the acumen to negotiate a sale to a foreign club ?
I seem to recall that when we sold Deane to Benfica we received no payment.
Hope we get a good fee + sell-on.

We also had McBurnie, who scored the same amount of goals as Mousset. You were talking about attacking threat, you weren’t talking about the rest of the team. Having said that though, it sounds as though we are trying to strengthen in those other areas.

Blades have tried to renew him multiple times since November.

Hes had no interest every time.

If that is the case, and it could well be, what else could they do? At least they've tried.

The new contract isn’t a rumour. The club said a while back they were trying to get him and his agent to discuss a new deal. The response was that they weren’t interested.

Never! Least I can sleep easy tonight though having seen this 🤣
Haha they have caused me to nearly have a nervous break down 😂 the joys of supporting United.

They certainly put us through the ringer, must be nice to be like City though not a care In the world.

Where as we are constantly left wondering what on earth is going to happen next 😂

At least one thing can be said life is never dull at the lane.
