There is a vast difference between OM signing a very good player for a knock down fee and some supporters thinking he can keep this current Sheffield United in the Premier League (single handedly if we're to believe some.)

Exaggerating things a little bit. In the semi-final he looked like a lost little boy but then that was against the best team in the world so it could be forgiven.

In reality, so far he’s looked better than most Championship defenders he’s played against. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the potential to play higher though.

People like him playing it down baffle me. I couldn’t give a shit about getting money for him now, I’d rather watch him play for Sheffield United in the top league in the world and give us the slightest chance of survival.

It’s not iliman Ndiaye going that kills me.

He’s a fantastic player, a great talent and one of the best naturally gifted players I’ve seen at United. He deserves the right to go where he wants given a choice. The club have exposed themselves massively.

What hurts most is that in the current state the club is in we will under sell him for £12m and do sweet f*** all with the money we get.

Wouldn’t surprise me if this money is already bank rolling the signings that are on their way and they still leave Heckingbottom with the same budget.

We will go back to square one and end up far worse than before.

It makes zero sense to sell Illi let him walk on a free at end of next season if he wants to leave.

But until then he is the only player we have that can change a game in an instant.
