CONFIRMED Iliman Ndiaye to Marseille

Reckon he's going this summer.

I feel like the board dropped the ball really.
After or during his first season I'd have given him a new deal to extend. So we would be looking at him having 2 years left instead.

Any player with a year left the vultures come circling. That's about 90% of our squad.

Given he's got a year left fee likely to be under £15m? Maybe even as low as £10m?
Yet Coventry in the Championship got £24million Gyokeres in exactly the same position.

“The fee has yet to be agreed between the clubs”

Could be £5, could be £50,000,000. But all signs point towards him being off.

Well if it’s £50m then I’d be fairly pleased, if it’s a fiver then I won’t be but you’ll forgive me for waiting for more details before I cry my eyes out.

He’s leaving on a free next summer if we don’t sell him so I guess it’s a toss up between keeping him or cashing in and getting a/some replacements in. Unless you know who the potential replacements might be then nobody can say either way whether it’s a good move or not.

It would be very odd if Ndiaye just surrendered a season in the PL

Don't believe this anyway

Marseille won't spend 20m+ on anyone, let alone one with a year left on his contract. And despite our Sheffield Unitedness, 20m is the minimum we'd take
I like the logic and it sounds like common sense. But this is United. And there is no smoke without fire.

Nothing agreed yet so everyone needs to chill out a little😅. Agreeing personal terms isn’t ideal though if he has done that. Hopefully we stand firm with this but if the player starts pushing then it’s a problem.
Any idea of what our magic number for him is?

The village idiots have kidnapped the board tonight ! You and balboni must both have a severe case of PMT with the crap that you spout,go and get your mums Grattan catalogue, open it at the lingerie section and fill your boots 👢
Not at all just stating it is history repeating itself.

You must be happy knowing that teams like Burnley have more ambition.

I think this pretty much guarantees he’s leaving. As we know the prince isn’t easy to negotiate with when it comes to player sales. Hopefully he can get the best fee possible

Which Burnley player is in the last year of his contract and being offered a deal to play for the club he has openly admitted he wants to?

I’m surprised you’re not here calling me a pig again.
Are you for real?
I agreed with another poster that your posts looked suspect. I was told it was a windup so apologised.
I’ve even ‘liked’ your posts when I think you’re making a valid point.
Calm down. It’s like you’re trying to make everything about yourself or something!

Yes Ndiaye to OM is still on, but it's been on since the moment he signed his professional contract with us as his dream next destination.

However unless OM suddenly get bankrolled miraculously he won't be leaving this window,

Expect pre-contract discussions for when he enters the last 6 months of his contract are where things stand now.

Pre-contract discussions? 😂😂😂

Marseille have been talking to his agent for ages.

He's not the difference between staying up and relegation?

He absolutely is our only chance
No player is the difference between staying up and going down.

That rests on the manager and the rest of the side.

He's not even really played at this level. The expectation that some have placed on his shoulders is batshit, no matter how good he is.

Huge blow if true but looking at the facts I think Marseille is the head turner specifically because that’s his boyhood club and have qualified for the champions league. Have to be positive and if it happens it happens if the player wants to leave, positive been we get a fee so will have to try and get as much as possible and re invest the best we can.

Lol haha yeah I meant the official pre-contract discussions with which you're only allowed to do once player is in final 6 months of contact.

Not the unofficial discussions behind a clubs back between player and agent which is strictly forbidden but every club does anyway

There's been strong rumours he was likely to go this summer regardless of whether we got promoted. If he goes, he goes. He's class, no doubt about that, never seen anyone like him play for us. It seems Ndiaye's agent has been playing hard ball for a while, it took a lot to get him to agree the first deal of course. As long as we get to reinvest in the team then that's something. Traore seems a similar player, I did wonder if he was the Ndiaye replacement quite honestly! It might mean we can sign more permanent deals but obviously it is a blow to lose him. I don't think it means we're relegated now as some saying. I'll make that judgement when we know the window is closed and we know the team because there's still 5/6 set to come in yet.

Why are a champions league side signing him then? He's never played at that level so how do they know he's good enough?

I wonder if its anything to do with him taking the piss out of every other footballer he's played against clearly demonstrating that he's the best player this football club has seen for at least 50 years.

I can accept it if the fee is decent and we use it to (I don't know if I've said before?) build the midfield

Odds are we'd be relegated with him as well. So the odds are that selling him now would be more beneficial. That is to say that approaching this season while disregarding this season would probably lead to a better outcome for the club! Sad, clinical and boring though it may be. Still couldn't bring myself to sell under 20m though because with him we DO have a chance and simply not seeing him in the PL would be incredibly disappointing
