He looks a good player should prove to be a quality signing for the Blades.
UTB

I like his penalty in that its exactly like how Blackman takes them.

Always hated those kind of penalties. For me its always been that a pro footballer should be able to pick a spot there or thereabouts in the top corner and smash it home. But Blackman has totally swung me on the method. How he just basically taps it into the net after duping the keeper is beautiful. Im tempted to try it when I take the next penalty for my Saturday side, but you just know its got "balls up" written all over it.

If you can get it low and as close as possible into the bottom corner then even if the keeper goes the right way he will probably not get it. Although I am of the opinion that putting it in the top corner is the safest bet still.

it's always seemed a bit of gamesmanship, that kind of pen. I thought they'd banned it, but obviously not.

I'm a little confussed. They seem to be making quite a big deal of his departure north of the border (getting a bbc goal montage no less), which implies he's good. But if he is that good, why would he be coming to us???

because he prob thinks that we can get him to the championship which can get him to the premier league

He IS a very good player, at SPL level, but that's a small gene pool and if he's looking to get international recognition he had to move south and I reckon it's a perfect match. He'll do a job for you no doubt!!

Outwith the Soapdodgers I think pretty much all the other SPL teams are of a lower Champ/ higher League 1 status. The attraction as our new posters says is bang on, but with the potential go higher than the glass ceiling of the SPL both playing and earning wise. I've only seen JM play in the flesh twice v Hibs but I think he's much better than Flynn and think he'll not take as long to find his feet.

Seem to recall Flynn coming with a fair amount of hype; and he is crap. Hope Murphy can live up to his reputation 'cos we need some quality.

Tough to please? I think we are the most patient. Can you imagine similar clubs putting up with the misery that we have endured over the years?

I hope Murphy realises he's joined a club where it's quite tough to please the fans. He'll probably be booed if he doesn't score on his debut.

UTB.
Don't worry he knows exactly what it's like to try and please them that can't be pleased, he's come from Fir Park.....

I was going to say no he won't, but it is Oxford (a league 2 team) and he's scored against rangers ( when they were better than celtic) so I agree

goals from outside of the area?! A big welcome to Jamie.

I used to go to the Lane regularly until moving back up here and Blades fans are the same as Well fans: always hoping for better and pleasantly surprised when things start going well.... Oh and having tossers as neighbours Pigs/Accies.

I think you've been away too long. "Still searching for negatives when things start going well" would be altogether more accurate...
