It quite different, actually. Anel was an experienced international with Bosnia/Sweden, and had played in the top league in three different countries, including French Ligue 1. Also performed well over a longer period of time.

Traoré have not really proven anything apart from doing well in a team that dominated the league (offensively) last year. They play an attacking 4-3-3 system where he is one of the forwards/winger with almost only attacking duties. This, in combination with the best midfield in the league and high possession allows him to excel. Im not convinced how quick he could adjust to our formation, and how he would manage PL level in addition to playing for a underdog side that will have to battle rather than anything else. Although, he could come in handy when we are pressed and need someone quick on the counter :)
Every player has to start somewhere, look at Haaland's goal tally for the first 3 seasons in Norway with Bryne and Molde, not great.

Not suggesting this player will be the next Haaland, just saying he started in a poor league but ultimately turned out alright.

Or, if he ends up being shit...

When the ball hits row Z
It's not Salah or Fred
It's Traore

When a shot clears the bar
It's not Kane or Zaha
It's Traore
Fantastic lol
If we sign him and he's fantastic,

When the ball hits the net
It's not Sala or Fred
It's Traore

He reminds me of Deane
Goal scoring machine
Our Traore...

Defintely not good enough for us. Also, don't like how much we seem to be bidding for Traoré. Not convinced he's PL level at this point.
Did you think the same about Ahmedhodzic?

I don't know if he's good enough, but some things in football are transferable and can help a player step up. Running and dribbling at great speed is not a common thing... It's literally why we signed Oli Burke. Traore will surely have a higher ceiling than Burke!

I'm pretty sure Oli Burke used to just smash it infront of himself and run. Is it classed as dribbling if there's no control of the ball 😄

Their forum seem to think he's off to Celtic
Mate of mine is a big Celtic fan, and he says one of the main ITKers on their forum says they are not interested in him at all, and the only reason they are getting linked with him is that they almost always get linked to anyone Rangers are after and vice-versa.

One of the best defenders coming out of Swedish football the last 5-10 years. Can't remember seeing someone dominate games as a central defender like he has. Excellent signing and I'd be stunned if the fee is only 3.5 millions. I thought he would go for 6-7 millions.
Nope :)

I think we will sign Traore if anyone does. If Alan Nixon has reported on it then they'll be something in it, he may write for the Sun but he will have more contacts on this type of thing baring in mind he works for the most popular (sadly) paper in the UK> Rumours to Celtic are more based on their forum it seems and casual links from the net which were not the recent update that came over the weekend. I think Traore will be one of the few permanent signings too which will be exciting. Can't see Hacken letting one of their prized assets leave on loan.

I suspect the others coming from the 3/4 mentioned will be on loan from Europe as we know from Darren Smith and because they'll be on loan I expect it to be players who have fallen out of favour with a club, not wanted by a current manager, maybe from a team relegated from a top flight who can't afford to keep them, something along those lines. Doesn't mean they'll not be very good players. Like what Fulham did a couple of years ago when they came up, there were some decent players that they brought in to be fair, Anderson and Lookman spring to mind.

The same Alan Nixon who reported we were in for Trafford at 6m....

The week before he signed for Burnley for 19m.

'Reluctant' Nicko, knows fuckall.

Sometimes the game changes, and there's nothing Nixon can do about it.

I think Nixon does hear somethings from agents that he knows but that’s a double edged sword sometimes he’ll get legit info other times agents will use him to put out stories to drum up interest in their clients and other times he’ll hear a player is moving and link that player to multiple clubs to generate more interaction even when some of those clubs might not have been interested.

I'll defend Nixon. Not on his personality, but his connections in the North West. We used him for odds years ago.

Someone for the future, definitely, but we need to get a few lads in who will make us better right now, not towards the end of the season or next year. I'd be stunned if he would go in and deliver straight from the start. I sort of like the signing, but only if we sign more qualified and experienced players who we come in and deliver straight from the start of the season. He is one for the future - not even clocked up 40 senior games in the Swedish league (the 23rd in Europe, behind leagues from Cyprus, Czech Republic, Israel and Serbia). Very good and promising, but just want to put it into perspective in terms what to expect from him.
CYPRUS??????
