In an ideal scenario we’d be giving them a golden carriage clock and wishing them #glttl

However we are where we are and in makes sense to use them to fill squad places on reduced terms.

You can guarantee those foaming at the mouth about this (despite it being common knowledge for a month that they have been offered terms) would be the first to be up in arms if we hit an injury crisis and ended up having to throw kids in.

Try supporting the players. Nathan Blake came out with this quote some time ago: “the home fans at Bramall Lane are something else when it comes to being fickle. They will turn on their players, especially when you consider the season they have been having." Reading these comments it’s hard to disagree. Some fans don’t know the meaning of support. We genuinely have some of the most pathetic fans in the country.
Ahhh blaming the fans again

Neither is Premier League quality, and what we saw from last season they are barely Championship quality either.

And Nathan Blake is a cunt who was given nothing but wonderful support whilst at United, the fat arsed twat

Yes, a change of manager gave a player a new lease of life in the 3rd division.

What's the catalyst here?
Both players have been plagued with injuries. If we can get them fit and firing then they have proven they can do it at this level before. Last time Fleck had an injury free season in the prem their were rumours Arsenal wanted him. He’s only 31 so if PH reckons he can get back to those levels with a good pre season that will do for me.

We’re skint and we know it so adding these 2 is better than empty places, is there any other remaining unsigned ?

Why would they have taken wage cuts to stay?
From being at a Championship club to being at a Premier League club
Because we were skint as a championship side and are just as skint as a Premier side and why we won't be able to match wages of players that other teams also fancy.

All the evidence points to Fleck having another injury hit season. On top of that he takes ages to get back up to speed, until his next injury. 2 really poor signings and a very disappointing start to our premier league recruitment.

That was 3 years ago.

I realise he's only 31, I had to remind myself of that fact last season when I saw him lose a 2 yard race despite having a 1 yard head start.

Over the last 3 seasons every outfield player who has played as much as Fleck has more goals and more assists, including all the defenders.

It's not as if he's effectively defensively either, players go past him like he's not there and he's not got the legs to get back. Only Egan, Baldock and Norwood have been booked more, over that 3 year period.

Obviously it will do for me too if he makes a contribution but I don't see any reason to believe there's a chance of it happening. If he'd never played for us and just left another club we wouldn't be going anywhere near.

Love how people demand loyalty from our players when they have offers from elsewhere but same people don’t think twice about posting bilge about 2 loyal servants of the club who’ve given us some great memories and always put in 100%

No one is pretending they are world beaters anymore but we have to have a squad. There are going to be 20 people in the Match day squad with 9 subs. Hecky wants to keep them and sees them every day that’s ok with me.

Fleck had some decent games last season including against city and Osborn can play about 100 positions - that’s certainly got value with our finances

Didn't "we" boo him just for leaving? That's what my memory is telling me.

Meanwhile, former Sheffield United striker Nathan Blake hopes to see third-placed Cardiff send the Blades one step closer to relegation. Welshman Blake spent four years with the Bluebirds before moving to United in 1994 and going on to score 34 goals in 55 appearances before joining Bolton. Now he has set the scene for tonight's match at Bramall Lane by calling on promotion-chasing Cardiff to increase bottom club United's misery.

"Despite all I had done for them, after I left, the Blades fans gave me nothing but abuse, a lot of it very personal and out of order," he wrote in the South Wales Echo.

"No, I've never forgotten what was said to me and I never will. The Blades' predicament now can't help but make me smile. "People talk about Bluebirds' supporters having a short fuse, but the home fans at Bramall Lane are something else when it comes to being fickle. They will turn on their players, especially when you consider the season they have been having."

Bit of a sensitive soul is our Nathan. Seems to blame any set of fans who give him abuse. His beloved Cardiff included. How dare we boo him when he's giving us the rods after scoring Wolves second goal in the play off final. Seems to have a sense of entitlement " Despite all he'd done for us!" He scored a few goals and was half decent when he was bothered but hardly a Blades icon.

Any comment he makes about Blades fans should be treated with the contempt it deserves bearing in mind he was wishing relegation on us.

This could easily read as a fleck / Osborn reading the comments on here about them signing their new contracts after successfully helping United get promoted tbf.

I dont mind them signing for another year if they are squad fillers and nothing else they should not be anywhere the starting eleven this season

My only worry is hecky loves them as they are all speed boat no driver with zero quality in the prem at least players the sort of players he loves

I guarantee he will be chomping at the bit to play them in away games beacuse they run about and have a great attitude
