Kyle Walker

Walker isn’t coming to the lane, I just can’t see it. If by some miracle he ended up here next season not only would we have one of if not thee best RBs in world football but we’d also have a fantastic deputy on the bench waiting to take his place. We need other areas sorting, RB is the least of our problems and for the money needed to make it happen wouldn’t make it worthwhile, due to the other areas we need to sort out.

Grealish? He got pretty relentless boos from where I was sat (behind the goal). I've no idea why though, and I bet those doing it couldn't have given a cogent explanation either. Tossers.
I did it because he throws himself on the floor nearly every time there is contact. On many occasions he instigates the contact himself. Dress it up as you wish, in my book its cheating. He constantly overreacts to fouls, tries to get opposition players booked and seems more intent on being fouled than beating his man. Watch Maradona or Best to see the difference. He is vain and in love with himself and nowhere near a genuinely top player such as De Bruyne.

Booing a player because he dives seems a fool's errand in today's game. Also Maradona loved a dive.

Maradona was kicked from pillar to post. His instinct was to ride challenges and hurt teams. It's the coward's way to wait for the foul. It mitigates you having to make a decision. Sadly, I may be wasting my time booing divers, but it won't stop me. It's the single biggest blight on the game. Grealish professes to love football. If he truly does, he would stop the cheating he does. Ironically, it would also make him a better player.

I do actually agree that Maradona was kicked all over the shop, I remember sharing a tweet on here that was a compilation of England players booting him up in the air before the Hand of God goal, including at least two absolutely vicious fouls that should have been red cards, even in the 1980s. People conveniently leave that out when decrying him as a cheat. That said, he was also a fairly prolific diver, there's one famous example in the Final that year.

I wonder though, did Jack Lester attract the same amount of opprobrium from you as does Jack Grealish? He was a serial cheat of the highest order. It's just slightly baffling to me why Grealish, seemingly one of the nicer chaps in football, has become the sin-eater for his behaviour when there are hundreds just as bad as him who get away with a much squeakier-clean reputation.

Good points but I think it's the fact that Grealish portrays himself, as does the media, as the good guy that makes it worse. At least the bad guys are the baddies and they probably don't care that much about football as a whole. With the likes of Grealish it feels as if they are betraying the game we love. His interview after showed he does care. I wish he would just concentrate on being the best he can be and cut out the rubbish. I'd say that about any United player by the way.

It doesn’t look bad on paper but RND has had a really bad injury so that position needs sorting for starters, Anel as good as he looks at times also looks a tad uncomfortable tackling with his wrong leg so to speak and that’s what ends up happening when you’re playing out of position.

Because it gives the game a bit of edge?

His diving pissed people off massively when he's played at the Lane for Villa, he became a fan-hate favourite.

Seems a decent lad, dealt with getting hit by that Brum player well.

Congratulations to Kyle on winning the Champions League medal. He was a pupil at High Storrs school. He isnt the first ex-High Storrs school pupil to have won the European Cup/Champion League medal. Who was he?

i think him being left out tonight means his career is all but over at city but think he will join another premier league club now

Shame Pep fucked him about. Just couldn't resist could he

Still, good trophy lifting practice for him and the other English lads ahead of next summer

Agreed, I wasn't trying to argue differently. My original point was that someone like Kyle Walker can deal with him because he can match him for pace and his technical ability isn't good enough to make a difference. 9 times out of 10 his pace is superior to that of his opponent so it's not normally a problem.
Which is why Walker is so good, because he's also got that
