Can we sell out Def Leppard/Motley Crue?

The sound check could be heard in our garden this afternoon.

Unfortunately for me Def Leppard were the standard bearers for everything I hated about the way Rock/Metal was going at the time. They left Sheffield as a brilliant, no frills, hard rocking band and they came back from the States as an over commercialised (much, much richer) bunch of pouting poodles, who became the high priests of hair metal and pop/rock…That’s when I checked out.

i live near east bank road. i wondered what that was about 5pm i went to a corner shop & wondered what that noise was like there was a concert going off & that was a mile away

I quite happy going to see tribute acts these day. Most of the old legacy bands, simply can’t do it anymore.

So what you're saying is, "I prefer their earlier stuff."

I've seen Motley Crue before, never again, one of the most phoned in performance bands I've seen. Also I highly doubt any of the younger generation (apart from an odd few) will care about either bands.

Luckily got tickets to see Def Leopard at Leadmill, that'll be a the gig
How was the gig last night buddy?
You enjoy it?

I've found a set list for tonight but I'm concerned they might be playing a lot more of their new album than what it shows.
Did they mix it up? Or keep with their old stuff?

Kop's not open. Just John St and South Stand. It will be like a League Cup game.

If you’re going tonight, hope you enjoy it and it doesn’t destroy any old memories, if you’re going tonight and you’re under 50, why, get your own music FFS.

I’ll stick with my original comment.

Remember Def Lep at the Leadmill, the City Hall and even the Dickens in Rotherham, I remember the Crew at the City Hal and the NEC.

Now they want me to pay 144 quid to see some 60 year old fuckers mumbling 40 year old songs, fuck that.

Retire and stay rock legends, don’t carry on and become embarrassments.

Could not agree more, with them becoming well known at the birth of British Heavy Rock along with Judas Priest, Saxon, Sabbath ect, I could never work out why they went down the REO Speedwagon, Journey path.

On Through the Night is still a classic metal album, then Hysteria happened, and everything from that day to this is utter puke.

I prefer Led Zepplin, Deep Purple, and Black Sabbath. Proper Rock and some legendary Guitar Players in those Groups.
Bruce Springsteen great concert at Bramall Lane a few years ago.

Loudest I’ve heard pig fans at the Bramall Lane End, assume it’s already on porktalk?

I'll hold my hands up and say that's a very impressive turn out. So many real ale drinking virgins who still live with their parents gathered in one place; it must be a record.

You’ll not see it again, Tommy Lee just threatened to get his cock out and requested some tits for the cameras.

Pitch closed next season except for the Shoreham/Cherry Street corner.

If Tommy 'T-Bone' Lee got his money maker out, there'd be some awkward questions asked when a few men got home tonight. He's got a cock like a Shillelagh; it's at least a four hander.

It’s bigger than his drum stick , pammy loved it 😍

Wouldn't have minded going but I don't like either band enough to pay what they were charging, looks a good turn out though.

I work very close to The Lane so went for a walk round there when I finished at 5pm, was very busy even at that time, loads of people stood in the street around the stadium boozing. Traffic was horrendous too cause of the road closures.

Gildan tee shirts are about 4 quid normally, wonder how much they'll be tonight with ten bob's worth of printing on them 🤔

Yeah, pretty much the same reason we didn't go.

We were delivering on John St about 2 and there were a good few, mainly Crue, already queuing up.

£40! I suppose that's the going rate these days 🤷🏼‍♂️

Going with two of my daughters , Poison or Thunder would have been better support acts , Poison did a few in America with them and was disappointed they not coming here ☹️
Are thunder back gigging? I know Danny Bowes has been very Ill. He’s back on planet rock on a Sunday now though.

I had a wander into town about 1pm and saw absolutely loads of people who were clearly going tonight (all wearing various rock band t-shirts).

Yeh £40 is the kind of price you'd expect to pay now, they were about that price when I went to see Metallica in Manchester a few years ago (although they'd sold out of the one I wanted when I got there so I didn't get one)
