Does any think this big unit who loves scoring against us would come up north,I believe he's out of contract at Millwall, Strong ,mobile, and scores goals, worth a punt chaps ?

Ryan Leonard was always mega against us...........

Last news on Cooper was that he under contract talks with Millwall but that was a month ago now and if we wanted him I'm sure we could trump Millwall. I don't know if he's good enough though for the PL, not seen enough of him to know either way. He's certainly a unit for sure and could cover Egan as well as LCB.

He doesn't really score goals. He only scored 21 in 285 for Millwall. He just has a freak record against us. 'Wall fans aren't that high on him either from what I've read.

He had one season where he was head and shoulders the best CB in the championship but that was sometime ago now and he’s never really approached those heights again I’d hope we’re aiming higher.

I've watched him quite a few times now in games where we haven't been playing (so I wasn't being biased and able to watch without anything colouring my views) and it quickly became apparent to me that he is shit. He is often a weak link in the Millwall back line, suspect positionally and his weaknesses outstrip his strengths i.e. height. A very ordinary/mediocre championship centre half. I sincerely hope we are aiming a lot higher than Jake Cooper. He will go to a league 1 team next season. In the PL he would be eaten alive. No thanks

Only interested in us signing forrins under the age 25 who we can at very very least double up on this time next year.

I wonder whether those championing he be signed are doing so based on his defensive abilities rather than his odd scoring record against Utd.

IMHO and on the few occasions I've seem him play live and on tv over the last few seasons, I would seriously question whether he's good enough. A big, imposing unit but limited mobility and even more limited with the ball at his feet - he makes JLT look like Iniesta

Probably not PL level but I wouldn't be disappointed if we took him on a free. Easy signing to cover CB and LCB. Good one to have in the squad if relegated

I'd put Lindsay from Preston in a similar bracket

Todays Task:
1) Watch Millwall v Blackburn (May 23) the one where the home team (only) needed to win to secure a Play Off position
For those with limited time, the highlights wil prove (more than) adequate

2) Return to this thread & document a one word response to the suggestion that Sheffield United Football Club should seek to employMr Jake Cooper as a professional footballer

3) Should anyone answer in the affirmative please retrieve your conical hat (the one emblazoned with the giant ‘D’) & proceed to your familiar position in the corner of the room , facing the wall.
4) Remain ‘in situ’ whilst reflecting on how / why you have (again) found yourself in this humiliating situation

5) Do not seek to post (further tosh) again until such time as you have publicly acknowledged & apologised for such buffoonery

I have wanted him in the past but the fact he is still at Millwall at 28 years old suggests the hype around him is very much over. Maybe had we signed him when he was younger he would have been a good project for Wilder to mold into competition for JOC.

I'd sooner sign Clark on a free.

He’s got another year left on his deal at Millwall.

Could it finally be time? Back fit from injury, just put in a man of the match performance complete with clean sheet at Luton.

Big, beast, 100% better than Robinson, if we sign him he can't score at BL which is another bonus.

Could be a shrewd move.

I'd take him. As tall as Souttar to win aerials, scores goals going forward and won't be able to score against us in the future. Get him in ✅

Would be a typical Wilder signing. When will we ever learn to stop fishing in a stagnant pond?

Is Des involved in recruitment or gas the Blades philosophy on recruitment neutralised him now?
