The line of stewards on the pitch at the end.....

They didn’t want anyone to run across the pitch and plant a big smackeroo 💋 on Michelle Owen.

It’s another box ticking joke of a policy probably instigated by the idiots at SAG and SCC.
It’s embarrassing, a waste of money and a complete waste of time.
As for the stewards on Bramall Lane, let’s hope they never have a serious incident to deal with, absolutely useless.

Totally normal, been like that for seasons and seasons... did you only just watch ur first football match??
Probably like me, leaving early and sprinting down Shoreham street to be first in the queue at the Sheffield Tap before catching the Calcutta like packed train home.

Pitch is basically falling apart and the club are worried that if there's a pitch invasion it will simply sink into a huge sinkhole to Hell (S6)

Without being rude, looking at them they looked like a line up of odds and sods, the old fella lining them up looked knackered.

I think they are there training to prevent end of season of season pitch invasion which happened last time and made fans wait for players to do a lap of honour. SAG undoubtedly involved but doesn't bother me as I am not going to jump off the BL upper corner to get on the pitch.

No word of a lie, watch after match SUTV , they are in shot lined up at the away end and it's completely empty. Really.

Yeah it was shown on Sky too, the 2nd line were protecting the invaders from an empty stand, but the pidgeons got through.

It was really strange as though they had some kind of tip off something was going to happen, but got it wrong.

They wanted to cut pieces out of the kop net where the ball landed off Berges belly....
Oh shit spoiler alert for last episode of The Mandalorian.

Not correct. There have been far fewer stewards at BL this season until the last few matches.
At the last match there were over 100 around the pitch area just after the match ended.
Stewards are a necessary cost, but not this many.
However they seem to have frightened the pigeons away !

I think they looked pretty good. Nice straight line, wound some of you lot up, got paid for standing around. Earned their bonus if you ask me.

Not the only place where there was tightened security today.

Before the game I was stood outside on John St in some disbelieve watching the stewards outside the turnstiles body searching old men in their 80s !! Ehh? WTF Why?
It’s all those flares (comfy trousers)

Certainly an interesting bunch

Him in the suit seemed to be absolutely reveling in his authority from where I was

Extremely distasteful and inappropriate isn't it

Top tip: if they ever ask to search you say 'no' and just walk straight through

Talking to Utrecht fans in the pub after the game over for the weekend (friends of a friend).

Telling us about a standard match day operation over there and showing us pics and videos on their phones.

Needless to say they wondered what had happened to the English football atmosphere and experience. And if we had pyro like they do we'd be made to play behind closed doors for 10 years. Not to mention the outrage on here.

WTF?!

One of the most bizarre and embarrassing post match spectacles I've ever seen

Who's put them up to it? What is their objective? Are they guarding against the possibility of the impossible pitch invasion ?

Seems part of a concerted effort to suck every last little bit of joy out of football that they possibly can
This has become one of my favourite match day moments. A bit like singing the GCB and going for a slash at half time. I expect to see them improve their performance over time though. Some thing like that Les Dawson overwieght dancing troupe thing would be good.

The current, making a broken line of mostly overweight people holding their arms out at the side, but then some not really bothering to do that and being shouted at by the white bloke with grey hair, isn't going to get them on Britians got talent is it?

Perhaps if fans stayed off the pitch it wouldn’t be needed
But then again it would appear you can invade the pitch, put players and supporters lives at risk and have no comeback. Ask Florists.

And whats to stop them? Half the stewards look like they’ve lost either their milk money or their telegram from the Queen.

Yeah, my son who is 39 got searched and even emptied his pockets, this is going on the kop, he gets searched a lot, maybe its because he's 6'4 and an ex doorman🤷🏻‍♂️ The last time they searched him he said they touched his Todger by mistake, or was it 🤔😆

I took my 7 year old nephew to the game yesterday so had a can of pop for him. Wasn't allowed to take it in, yet there were plenty of people walking in with bottles of pop 🤷‍♂️

These stewards predictably have no discernment skills when it comes to who should and shouldn't be searched

It's only a rare scroaty sort who arguably should be - especially on the kop. Hardly going to launch projectiles 300 metres into the away end are they

I went to Dinamo Zagreb a few weeks ago, they're top of the Croation football league, this is a video from that game. The atmosphere was incredible, you could drink in the stands and it was only €10 to get in and a fiver for a pint and a hotdog. But there were only 12k fans there.
