Phew, glad that's over, anything other than a win and I would't have slept a wink tonight. I think it could be considered to be one of the most significant results of the season. Well done lads, we're nearly home and dry.
Just need the Millers to do us a favour and I can faintly hear the fat lady singing.

Beat Bristol on Tuesday and I’ll start believing. Realistically we should be getting 7 points from 15 though within the remaining fixtures. If this was a normal stage of the season fans would expect that as a minimum

Beat Bristol on Tuesday and the lead is 8 points with 4 games / 12 points to play for, plus we have an 11 goal better GD than Luton (which will increase if we beat Bristol Titty) so in reality a 9 point lead.

7 points (max) required from 5 games, 3 of which are at home.

Let’s start believing blades!
Technically we need 8 - but I'd agree that 7 most likely does it with the GD advantage we have.

Beat Bristol Tuesday and it's isn't beyond the realm of possibility that we are up before we play again.

We'd be 8 points ahead, with Luton to play away at Reading and home to Boro before we play again. If they drop 5 points they then couldn't catch us (although Boro might be able to)

It’s been weird this season. We were 7th on Boxing Day when Wilders team got promoted and it felt as though the gods were with us and there was a swagger. This season we’ve ground out so many wins particularly away from home that we’ve never really felt we’ve played well enough to be in our position but here we are, on the brink and more comfortably than anyone could imagine. Feels slightly unreal that this team is about to be promoted. Whisper it very quietly.

Rather than blather on why not just focus on the only game of any relevance. Bristol on Tuesday. Nothing after that matters a jot. All we need to do is beat Bristol. That's it. Thankfully the manager and players are with that mindset.

For wanting us to win our next game so we feel reassured about promotion? I’m sure any neutral looking at our position thinks we’re up but as a fan you never feel that way until it’s concrete.

Congratulations on the kittens though.

Re: goal difference. At the risk of being the ghost at the feast, one thing people seem to forget is that if the points gap narrows so inevitably does the goal difference. If we lose, at least one comes off our GD, and if any of the chasing pack wins, they gain at least one. So for each time they pick up points, our GD against them drops by a minimum of two.
