Trouble After Game? (Spurs)

Can't believe there are some seemingly trying to excuse this. I can walk through a busy town centre or such like without assaulting someone, or the fear of being assaulted by someone. Just because its after a football match doesn't give someone free reign to assault someone, provoked or otherwise.

Utterly shameful.

There's a few really disturbed people around
Hopefully !maybe a taste of there own medicine would help.my friend had a window smashed by a thug on East Bank Rd.
Really there's no punishment available to fit these crimes ! Just a sick minority of society.
Great Birthday present for that spurs fan.The very small minority responsible for this give rootball fans a bad name..
Hopefully the chap is OK.

like to know who's responsible. was it blades or looney owls trying to besmirch us

cant see why we would attack them , we won. If they were blades stay away dont need shits like that

Hopefully the chap is ok. No excuse for violence. I had to walk past it. No Police nearby. It kicked off outside Genting against Watford too (3 motorbike coppers that time.)
Last night it looked like the old guy was not a blameless victim him and his party were shouting and carrying on in the street, screaming at folk and trying to start on people. Was he drunk or something? I said at the time as we crossed over to avoid it that he should have known better at his age.

Sorry to see this. I hope he’s ok. I was walking past and saw him sat down, some people were looking after him. A group of people were holding on to what looked like a drugged up black guy. Hope they got him. Police were in their van further down the road but were oblivious. I just wanted to stay out of trouble and got out of the way.

It's football not war propaganda ffs

Not difficult to believe at all. Sadly on a handful of occasions I've seen a fewvof our brave boys having a go at easy targets including old men.

Every club has their share of cunts but it still doesn't excuse it.

This is simply not acceptable, I hope the chap is OK and wish him a speedy recovery. No words can convey what I think about the people(?) that did this. The chap in front of me was saying there were gangs of Blades youths going round looking for trouble before the game. I dint personally see that, but he wouldn't make it up.

The bloke seems to be making the most of this on Twitter tagging the club in numerous tweets. What is he expecting of the club given it happened some distance away from the ground?

Hope his Dad is ok, my Dad is of a similar age but if I had to take him to hospital following an assault then Twitter wouldn’t be at the forefront of my mind.

Terrible incident but agree about Twitter, seems to be the modern way.

We had Dan Walker taking selfies in the ambulance the other week.

Pretty sure I wouldn't want my battered mug projecting on the WWW like this.

Bloke tweeting about it and asking what the club are going to do! Moron. I'd be more bothered about my dad than tweeting. We don't even know if it was a blade or someone who just twatted him. Then for the usual nobs jumping in as if their club's fans are all saints...even a florist fan gobbing off, which is ironic given what their fans did last season.

just wouldnt put it past them
if it is blades Im disgusted by them
Come off it mate. As much as I dislike them, it wasn’t a pig fan. It was a Blade, either (a) being a knobhead, or (b) giving him a crack for giving it the big un (possible based on Rudders account).

Spurs got lippy on Arundel Gate the last time we played them at home (with fans present). Remember seeing them getting chased down the side of where Plug was.

I hope the old fella is well and he can get back to an away game without any worries

However, just remember that there’s only one side of the story reported.

I was walking past the “away end” with my son against Burnley at home, when I saw the sniffer dogs and said, “I don’t know why they’re only at the away end, there are plenty of coked up knobheads in the kop” (where we sit). An old fella, who was walking past me in the opposite direction, it turns out completely hammered and Burnley, started swinging at me and only missed because he was so hammered, the police grabbed him, and he started saying “he called me a knobhead”. Fortunately the statement of a startled 15yo helped.

I’m of course not saying this Spurs fella did anything wrong, and I genuinely hope he is ok and it hasn’t knocked his confidence to get back to the next away game, but I’m saying be careful from judging off one side of the story.

Similar to when Norwich fans were wibbling on about how mean and nasty we are after two of their lot got sparked out near the Railway on Bramall Lane 5 years ago.

Subsequently turned out that they were starting on United fans and mouthing off and so they got what was coming to them.

Seen a lot of youths wandering around recently before games. Was about 30 of them marching up London Road on Saturday, looking for god knows who.

This is why I find it bizarre that people think if you don't instantly side with the "victim" you are supporting it. Even in this thread somebody has said they can't believe people are trying to excuse it by basically saying let's get the facts first.

Totally unacceptable what happened to the old fella but I'm not sure what the club can do here, surely it is first and foremost a police matter as it happened outside the ground. Once again SYP seem to have got it wrong it is either overkill with metal barriers or simply no police presence at known flash points. I would expect United to hand out a life ban if they find who did it. Of course one or two pigs and Forest fans have to comment which is a bit ironic when you think back to some of the things their fans have done in the past, cheap points scoring which just shows what low lives they are.

A common case of "fuck about, find out."

It should never end in violence and you'd hope fans would show more restraint, particularly given the fellas age, but I wouldn't be walking around Tottenham largeing it with my mates as the result would be similar.

The son is singing like a canary all over Twitter, so I can't say that it surprises me to find out he and the old man were doing similar in the events prior to getting a slap.

Our fans are probably at the rougher end of the scale.
Not exactly Leeds or Millwall, but away fans should be aware that they need to behave appropriately or there will likely be consequences.

Hate to see stuff like this and it embarrasses the clubs reputation. Context is important though.

Aye
Let’s add it to the list:-
US election ‘stolen’
Prince Andrew can’t sweat
Johnson got Brexit done
Double decker bus found on moon
Freddie Starr is a vegetarian
Dozi is a billionaire
Lee Baxter was a goalkeeper

If that is what has happened then hopefully it’s caught on camera and a prosecution and lifetime ban incoming.

(I use the word ‘if‘ as there was some suggestion on Twitter that he’d fallen over during some pushing and shoving)
