Strongly disagree. I have a ST in south stand every season(John street for cup games) and its a decent atmosphere whoever sits there, depending on the opposition of course.
Do you not think it was 10x better than the league games last night? Wrexham was better than league games too. Blackburn at home in the league was about the best it's been, that's what I think anyway, all think differently obviously.

The atmosphere was a million times better last night than any game since COVID. It still wasn't anywhere near the usual volume in this type of game though. Having the back of the Kop shut obviously didn't help.

Last night went something like:

Fans sing GCB and a couple of songs early on

Then go quiet for a bit because it’s Spurs and we’re just waiting for them to score

Realise they’ve brought a fair few fans and defer to their singing

Sing GCB in second half and Spurs all over us for 5 mins

Spurs fans pipe up a bit

We then realise that they’re not actually as good as we thought and the atmosphere improves

We score, ironically during the only time I really noticed Spurs fans all game with their ‘Yid army’ number

Blades fans come to life when we realise that Spurs are a bit shit and we’ll probably hold on at 1 nil

Final whistle good applause and rendition of H&SMc

Playing Spurs on a night game is a different feeling to Reading at home though for example.

It's nerves, players are nervous, fans are nervous.

Last night was different, I wasn't nervous at all because I expected nothing, especially when I saw the team selection. We had nothing to lose so I didn't really care.

But as we got to the hour mark still at 0-0 I started to get nervous, there was suddenly something to lose.

After the initial euphoria of scoring the goal I was shitting myself every time Spurs had the ball

Spot on this, Wrexham was much more of a pressure/nervous game and I shit it when Mullin had the second pen. (Missed)

Crowd was pretty solid vs Watford.

Can we do even better this time round??

This is the time the team needs you most.

Keep those chants going all game long Blades fans.

At least it'll help keep you warm!

We've tended to do best as underdogs, and with backs against the wall....the transfer embargo has made that the case, and going up tougher than it might have been!!

If fans can't back us now, and we didn't go up, there's a high chance you won't enjoy yourself next season....!.....the time's now, there's a golden opportunity. C'mon Blades fans!!!💪

ditch this 3 centre back set up now too defensive and for gods sake heckingbottom attack teams from the first whistle i fear our season is over after today

37,490 according to BBC sport website. Not sure what the capacity is but there were loads of empty seats all around the ground looking from the tv pictures.

In common with all clubs these days, the attendance figure was clearly ‘number of tickets sold’. As you say, there appeared to be large swathes of empty seats which would suggest that a number of season ticket holders gave it a swerve.

The 3rd tier down the side was completely empty apart from one small compact section which I assume was shareholders or such like. I'm not sure that would have appeared on TV but there were lots of gaps all round the stadium.

I was also told to sit anywhere which possibly meant people could sit with their friends and this probably improved the atmosphere from the Blades

Sunderland have been like for years, loads of empty seats and not much noise. That ground is too big for them even though their attendance are always impressive.

I remember going up there a couple of times when it first opened and it was just as impressive as it was intimidating

First time I've been there, from our viewpoint, I though crowd was more like 27k. Couldn't believe it when it said 37k. Obviously that's all tickets sold number. It is a big place so I imagine it's decpetive.

I know it's an early kickoff and most of you ain't downed as many pints as normal

But... Wake the fuck up!!!! u could hear a penny drop apart from the odd groan of injustice

No wonder the players are playing at walking pace.

Start singing ur hearts out for fuck sake!!!!
