Heres an idea... 4 seat numbers are called out. They then race to the centre spot. The third person wins. He has to so 7 kick ups finishing with a volley. If that volley hits the second flag pole to the right on the south stand roof he wins a run out at left back in the second half.

I remember at Coventry a couple of years ago they had a decent competition going on at HT.

There was an empty goal and a ball lined up on the pen spot, edge of the box and on the halfway line or something similar and the cash prize went up every corresponding ball. This bloke won a grand for scoring from the half way line. Wouldn't mind seeing something like that at the Lane.

I like this idea. They could just draw a seat number out and whoever is say in that seat gets a go at it.

The prize draw we did every home game for the car was pretty decent too.

It might not be everyone's cup of tea but should we not be encouraging kids however young to get out there and do things, especially infront of crowds which is good experience. What harm is it to any of you lot? I am sure there would have been a few proud parents or two there

wizard1889 fair play for coming on here to put your point across, I don't intend to be rude, But personally I thought it was crap and if I do have to witness the halftime entertainment (seems like I have to as the blades clearly don't want me buying beer and eating pies), then watching fat kids dance badly isnt my idea of entertainment.

Get them on trampolines, doing summersaults and breakdancing properly then I might get vaguely interested, but seeing lame dance troops is not what I see as entertaining.

Out of the SUFC crew there maybe a couple of bigger girls but they are amazing, feel free to come down to our rehearsals and see for yourself...

I'm not deluded to just say they are all amazing as not all of them are on the same level, that's why we have performance crews, & Competition crews for them to progress to the next level.

I myself have performed across the UK , all over Europe, Sky Tv & released over 10 Dance & Fitness Dvd's so have a fair knowledge of what is good or not...

So for you to say it is bad is pretty irrelevant to me as its just ' your opinion' which everyone is entitled too, but if your going to make harsh comments that are totally untrue then I will have my say & put you right, whether you think so or not.

As I said feel free to come down & see them rehearse & you will see the quality they have.

Finally if it offends you that much I'll buy you a pie at half time so you don't have to watch.

Although the half time dancing doesn't really interest me, I don't agree that they're a bunch of fat untalented kids. I'm no expert but they do sometimes look a bit out of time, and definitely not in line with each other, but I suppose thats understandable considering theres so many of them. I certainly don't think they're rubbish, I know for a fact I wouldn't be able to do better. Personally I'd rather see things like Crossbar Challenge or other competitions for the fans but having the dancers is better than nothing at all!

Keep up the good work wizard1889, much better to see kids doing something like that than knocking about on the street or sat on their arses in front of Geordie Shore.

You make a really good point regarding there being so many of them. Our main crews have 8-12 kids max, have 35-45 kids to dance at the same time is very difficult especially with the mixed ability, there lines maybe out sometimes but we rehearse in a studio & have one practice on the pitch before the main performance.

Some of them are very talented & will go a long way in dance if they pursue that career, 3 of my seniors have been selected for some amazing dance collages in London & Leeds.

Another poster mentioned about proud parents, that is the main thing for me out of the Sufc dance crew, obviously the kids come first but the look on parents faces is fantastic.

Sorry, but I was giving a point of view. I'm not sure what there is to understand, its dancing, I presumed that in a troop they're supposed to be in time.

Arsewipe or not as raul puts it, I pay to go to the game just like anyone else, im not a proud parent of one of these kids, im giving my point from a spectators perspective. I appreciate that mine won't be the view of everyone's.

And on a final point, I'm not criticising what you do for these kids, I'm sure it's good work and you/ they get a lot out of it, but that's not the point I was making. I'm also sure that these kids out a lot into it. I just didn't think it suited half time at the blades, I just didn't think it was that well rehearsed.

I'm commenting on half time entertainment on an open blades forum, I don't think that I need to fully understand dance to a city and guilds level to have to comment on it.

Without getting too deep into this, isn't dance supposed to be an art form and to some extent open to opinions - good and bad

Due to my advancing years, I have developed a new syndrome which means that at 44 minutes, I badly feel the need to fart - from my seat in the corner, I therefore set off towards the gents just in case of a possible follow-through.

I usually manage to reach row AA before the explosion, but it was a real pleasure recently to return to the door, with both yellow jackets accusing the other of an absolute paint stripper..

The whole 'half-time entertainment' thing is a bit american for me. Just update the scores, show some replays from the first half and play some inane music that Gary Sinclair has dug out from his vinyl box. Despite my earlier comment about the bladettes, i don't see the need for any dancing at half-time whoever it is from. Smacks of american cheerleaders, which is just pointless.

If they have to do something, then make it football related, maybe crossbar challenge as someone mentioned earlier in the thread, or similar.

Best half-time entertainment at the Lane in recent memory ? When the PA broke down a couple of years back, ensuring a Gaz-free and music-free 15 minutes when you could actually talk to the people next to you. How quaint.

Best half-time entertainment on the road ? The big pie they wheeled onto the pitch at Burnley, with a line of kids standing 20 yards away trying to chip a ball through a big hole cut in the middle. Classy !
