it was in the family stand. there is guy sits in that area with a fog horn of a voice. Not sure if it was him, but Robbo was clearly pissed off. Stewards involved at full time as well
I know the one! Ahh disappointing if it’s one of “ours”.

Oh I’m sorry, should I have stayed to watch us run into more blind alleys and mis hit simple passes? Or am I allowed to go home to bed since I’m working at 5.30 in the morning? Is that allowed sir?
Hope you have a good night sleep nobody else other than you who went to bramall lane as to get up early in the morning.

It always amuses me how early people have to get up, and how much earlier the buses leave when the team is shit.

Most fans are just bystanders these days - pretty crap in old school terms. Many who read this will ge appalled, without accepting its then I’m referring to.

I don’t know your predicament so this isn’t aimed at you, but the above holds for lots of people.

I wasn’t there tonight dragged my wife to a pub in Northumberland. We had enough chances to win the game. Mariner was shit. 3rd goal definitely a foul on mcatee. But decisions go both ways. Anel could have done better on second goal. We’re still 7 points clear of them and a game in hand.

The way they celebrated at the end pissed me off they think they’re up. I don’t like them as much as Wrexham.

UTB

Pathetic how many left with over 10 minutes left

Even those right at the back of the Kop. If they leave at that point then where the hell is the much needed support going to come from?

Barely a peep all second half generally too

I was above the away end. Felt the atmosphere was pretty good first half.
Second half we did nothing to try and help the lads get back into it. Middlesbrough fans took the piss in the end. Could see our lads heads drop when they were being played off the park to the sound of "oles."

very unlikely anything will compare to pipping leeds to the 2nd spot and then finishing in the top half (I think?) Of the Premier league, there's no electric atmosphere like in the warnock and Wilder days for sure.

On here is just a reflection
United fans are a negative miserable bunch
When we were winning every week loads were moaning and when a crunch game came around the ground was like a library
Could have done with a good book to read tonight, it could easily have been more exciting than the Blades.🤔

A good proportion of people are most comfortable when spewing abuse at “our own”.

It was far from the fans fault we lost, but it’s embarrassing how quickly it slides.

There was some right shite being screamed in frustration and thrown about on the way out.

They shouldn’t be immune to criticism, but the last thing we need in our current position of strength is to turn on ourselves.

I think people are entitled to leave whenever they wish. That is their choice and their right.
Personally, I have never ever left a match before the final whistle. So many goals and dramatic moments occur late in matches.
And I have also had to get up very early in the morning and had a 150 mile drive home or (some years ago admittedly) a ride back on the late night mail train. But that is my choice and does not make me right or those who choose to leave early wrong.

I looked around a couple of minutes after the 3rd Boro goal and thought no way we're even threatening a consolation there's no fucker left in here.
And then you hear people booing at the final whistle at the first defeat in over 3 months. Just get behind them that's our one job.

I don’t get where this cauldron of noise and support myth comes from when playing at the Lane. Let’s be honest, once Annie’s song / greasy chip butty dies down we have ALWAYS been quiet thereafter. When we score it livens up but soon goes quiet. We are just not a very vocal fanbase at home.

As for people complaining about fellow supporters leaving early - who cares?

First time I’ve left before the final whistle tonight (as soon as the injury time came on on the board). For me I can accept a loss, but that performance from both players and staff was unforgivable for me, that midfield was being overran since we scored and we did fuck all about it until we took off Norwood for Ben fucking Osborn. The players bar a couple gave fuck all. As someone has said further up, we pay good money to watch and when it makes me to that point of anger and frustration I will leave as I did tonight, no football team is worth getting that pissed off over. All my opinion of course.

One team wanted it more tonight, that’s what pissed the fans off.
Wanted it more, or were they just better on the night and less overwhelmed by the occasion?
I remember many games over the years where we have been truly dreadful. But rarely have I seen one where we did not want to win, or where we weren't putting in effort.
Often, things don't go our way and players misplace passes, get out of position, don't anticipate, make poor decisions, lack confidence, etc. Sometimes, the tactics are all wrong, or the team selection is wrong or changes aren't made at the right times. And the performance is disjointed or flat.
But none of those things means a team wants to win any less than the opposition.

Boro sang about themselves going up when they're in third place.

We're in second place with a healthy points gap and a game in hand, and not once have I heard "The Blades are going up" on the back of the Kop.

This group of players has far more belief in the team than our fans do. We're seeing results which have us gunning for promotion, yet we're not rewarding them with a vocal backing at home.

If we do end up fucking this up, the fans will have to take some responsibility for that. Especially if we don't pipe up when we're up against it. I know it's a chicken and egg situation between atmosphere and the quality of football on display, but when you can hear a pin drop at 1-1, it's hardly an incentive to find that next gear as a player is it?

If we were on this run under Wilder then the place would be rocking. Just a fact. Perhaps Hecky needs to get his hair cut in town and go for drinks with his pals in Broomhill.

Before the season started I did not expect us to be in the position we are now.
The people who got us there are (in the main) the players and management/coaching staff.
They deserve support and not just when we are winning.

A lot of them have to be absolutely fucking leathered to join in with anything other than the GCB

And even then they'll probably leave on 80 minutes if it's not going well..... ⚔️⚔️⚔️

I'm not one to automatically moan about our support but thought it was really poor tonight under the circumstances.

Been a bit disappointed with certain elements at home for a bit but the complete lack of noise and vocal support during the second half was crap tbh.

The Norwich game was proof how the crowd can turn it but that took their players behaving like twats.

You're free to do what you want mate. I'm free to be embarrassed to be associated with it too. It's a free world

The sea of red seats before injury time was announced was seriously cringeworthy though. Players deserve better.
You mean on tv ?

lots leaving after the third. Madness considering how well we've been doing.

If I hadn't already seen the last train back had been cancelled, I'd have left not long after the third as well

They seem unable to grasp the circumstances. Grasp just how important tonight was, and the difference they could make

It has the feel of a crowd expecting it to go tits up no matter what. Maybe we have a high percentage of weak people and defeatists? TJB makes some good points there - other fans would be more brash and full of it, whereas we appear scared to show any sort of confidence

maybe it has something to do with people knowing deep down that our performances haven't been promotion level and despite the results could never muster true belief, no matter what they may say!

I think it's a normal reaction when your chasing down teams and not been hunted also when we had been in league 1 for 6 years . Just a load of spoilt fans really. Utb

Our last season in the PL was painful.
So we know how horrible it can be.
If our owner was enthusiastic and showing signs of investing or even if we had the prospect of a wealthy new owner , it might be different.
But at the moment , our owner just wants to sell + the buyer looks dodgy.
So it's no wonder folk aren't raving about the chance to get trounced every week next season if no investment will materialize.
Only dem Blades could have their fanbase in two minds about whether to get promoted.

Coulibaly should have replaced Norwood.
Hecky's performance was shit tonight.
