The point being, most people currently calling people out don't have the foggiest what these people do, nor is it their fault that they don't, but the point remains...

It's certainly not the time, nor the place to debating the merits or otherwise of individuals currently going through the problems at the Lane.

I'm not deliberately being obtuse and some of these debates are for another day... You all know I don't run this place to censor people, but please have some respect for the people involved.

This thread was created with the intentions of thanking a man who sadly left our club yesterday, a man who has supported the club since being a young boy and who has spent years grafting for our club with a smile on his face.

I think your statement that 'most people most people currently calling people out don't have the foggiest what these people do' sums it up. It is worrying that we have a communications manager that noone knows what he does (including yourself as you admit) and one that does not communicate and more worryingly a club that does not communicate. It is not about one individual (this is far from a personl attack) and goes deeper than that but if popular individuals have left the club and we have players that are not being made available for selection that are fit; then I think the most the fans deserve is some sort of explanation or some sort of statement? Listening to the Walker/Wilson interview last week was cringeworthy.

It's important indeed to push for communication on the whole situation, if anyone would like to point out to me which of the potentially jobless chaps I should push for this communication the day after they've potentially been made redundant, feel free, I'll drop that one a text.

By the way Linz.Foxy you do an excellent job and it is a superb forum; You should not be charged with getting any answers (the comment about the forums was just a query really as it least gave us some kind of answers from time to time). This is up the club to come out and tell us what is going on. We/you should not have to seek answers.

As a paying customer I dont expect a business to just treat us like morons. Sadly that continues to be the case. McCabe's poor leadership is bad enough; his lack of any kind of information or communication is nearly as bad. We know there is issues but at least tell us what you are doing, how you are trying to address things (restruscutre/reduncancies/players on high earning contracts). Maybe the club should tell the fans nothing and we should just turn up and blndly get behind this seemingly sinking ship but I think the suppporters would appreciate some direction and some honesty (withing reason - accept it is a sensitive time for individuals).

I said it would not surprise me (if he had left). It was more of a comliment to his skills and I know he is good friends with Andy Daykin.

If he had left United; then someone would have snapped him up and his association with Daykin means sometimes work/paying the bills takes precedence. Daykin and the ticket office manager both left for SWFC. Mark Smith academy/reserve coach is a big Owl and ended up at SUFC. Dooley lefthis boyhood team and ended up at SUFC. These things do happen and it is very naieve to suggest people would turn down jobs because of their football allegiances.

I suggested he may end up on the dark side 'if' he had left.

As an aside it still baffles me that if McCabe never wanted him to go in the first place (as seems to be the case) that Winter/McCarthy was allowed to make such a decision - does McCabe not know what is going on or have final say on reduncacies- surely he should know how important/popular Rooker is and shoould not have to step in after such a decision? All just sums up the amateurish way we are being run and the general mess at SUFC at the moment

Kudos to McCabe for sorting this problem out. I do get the feeling McCabe is a little out of touch with the feelings of the fans though and it is screaming out for someone in the boardroom who knows about football and I dare say communications and public relations.

The wording of Mick's statement was a bit ambiguous. Do we know he's being re-employed or is he just going to 'be Mick Rooker' with little or no remuneration?

Batho, Winter and that other fella? I hope all the re-org that is currently taking place means we are putting things right where it comes to communication (as long as it doesn't mean we have a Lee Strafford type posting on message boards)

I think the club is looking for a football man to run the club and doesn't mean Kevin McCabe leaves. Whatever some people think about him, he is not a bad man imo, just makes some unlucky decisions. I think his vision for the club with youth will reap its rewards but we need to be patient
