That’s a fair point. You would have hoped that they would have looked at the respective fixture lists though and had contingency plans for when they are at home on consecutive days, as seems to happen quite regularly.

The solution ought to be a little like Barcelona. Have a small ground for the reserves and womens team and the men to practice on. Then have the Bramall Lane pitch for their ‘big’ games. Having more empty seats than fans like at Hillsborough some times can be counterproductive.

Maybe this sort of thing can be somehow incorporated into Dozy’s vision, if he comes aboard.

Is the pitch the worst it's been since desso has been installed?

I reckon it is. Whilst it's still not that bad overall it's not looking like a good desso pitch.
Heard that the Watford Comms at the weekend were saying how bad it was. Certainly don't think it's awful at all but it is looking but cut and dry.

Think it's fair to say it's taking too much whack. We've got us on it, sufc ladies and our reserves. Not to mention at times we have trained on it.
On top of this earlier this season a few rugby games.

Some weeks we might play on the Saturday, ladies Sunday and reserves midweek.

The reserves and the sufc ladies used to play elsewhere at a guess to protect the pitch. Guessing now makes more sense financially to play all at lane. And with the push on women's game too.

But the pitch is deffo suffering a bit.

Guess alot of clubs have the other teams usually play at different venues like we used to. Maybe it might get implemented again some time.
For the reserves an academy pitch one day with a stand might be good.
But that is so far down the line of improvements we need just yet!!!!

Reading had, Brentford and Hull have rugby sides playing on their pitches without it looking as bad as ours is right now. I am unsure if they have occasional youth games on the pitch but I reckon rugby would do far more damage than a women's side?!

Well that's certainly the case at the training ground. Wouldn't be surprised if it's the case in the ground.

I'm not wanting particularly dozy to take over based on what we have heard so far but make no mistake it's a bit messy behind the scenes at boardroom level and has been since he got full ownership.

It depends on the code, Rugby League which is at Hull is quick and they probably do less damage than football. Reading haven't hosted Union for a while now as the Union team in question London Irish moved from Reading to Brentford, union definitely will leave a bigger imprint on pitches, just look at Coventry before Wasps went bust. Bristol City also ground share with Union and Huddersfield do with their Rugby League counterparts. Apart from that you have to drop down a few leagues for other rugby groundshares.

What examples have you got that it’s affecting performances?as for ‘pushing women’s football on as many people as possible’- do you think the club is putting a gun to people’s heads to get them through the door?

Yes

And I don't know what sort of evidence you'd expect. But our best player is Ndiaye. His strength is his control and dribbling. Hitting a bobble every second touch won't help him, and won't help us

We have better players than nearly all our opponents. A good pitch should be to our advantage more than theirs

We should stop any other games taking place on the pitch until the end of the season. Then if we're promoted we can pay to erect a scaffold stand on graves park, and let the women play there
