Anyone know why Sander was booked?

I'm half thinking it was mistaken identity, but how on earth do you make a mistake like that?

Because the referee is a bunt.

End of thread

Once they had ignored about 6 bookings they should have given the other side, they had to justify that the referee still actually had the card, so to ensure every decision favoured the script, he chose one of ours at random.

I thought it was because he deliberately fouled their player when they broke. Commentator said mouthing off so maybe I mistook that identity myself and whoever fouled didn't get booked.

Maybe this. Makes more sense.

I think he saw his challenge as a cynical one to stop their break. Having seen it a couple of times, it looks harsh.
I thought it was a booking at first sight. Looked like he stopped a break but a bit harsh.

I think their player had a poor touch so went down just as Berge challenged, there may even have been a slight touch on his shoulder, but I think he was going down anyway.

Sander seemed as pissed off with the ref as everyone else. Maybe we should try firing him up like this every week.

The British psyche is to support the underdog
Unfortunately the ref didn’t understand that as someone who has to apply the rules of the game he shouldn’t take that into account,

So Wrexham bought into that as they were benefiting from it

Hence
Hecky & Billy comments

Hecky referred to a rule change in his interview where if a player stays on his feet then the ref can't bring play back and book them when the ball goes out. There were definitely 2 cases where this should have happened last night.

Is anyone else aware of this rule change?

Makes no sense to me, if someone punches you in the face and you stay standing but the ref continues play as your team is in on goal, surely he can punish the punch?!

Booked for breathing on one of their players despite the exact same (worse?) challenge on Berge 5 minutes earlier being waved away. Ndiaye hacked at two or three times but referee too busy checking to see if Reynolds had tagged him in a tweet. Hopeless
