Not a red - club should appeal that red card

The Wrexham full back tripped / Kicked Jebbo first then pushed him as Jebbo ran past him, then jebbo swung a leg towards his ankles & it looks as though he missed because there was no reaction by the Wrexham player.
Then as the ball goes over noth players head wrexam defender looking straight at Jebo blocks him & Jebbo sways into him

Handbags at 20 paces , 6 of one half a dozen of the other , how the hell the 4th official felt the need to get involved is beyond me
Appeal it every day of the week.

i could see a in the post match bit it look like he swung his arm, but whether he was hit i dont know, i couldnt see a foot, but its shocking refereeing as defenders got both hands all over him. but there was questionable refereeing on both sides id say. not helped by wrexham looking for set pieces at every opportunity by fair or foul means

Its no doubt Tozer was trying to get him wound up and grappled him problem is 4th Official only saw the kick by Jebbo. If he had seen Tozer instigate the incident he would have been booked.

but then again there was dollar notes hanging out of the back pocket of the 4th official. Since when does the 4th official make the decision its a red card ? All the other off the ball incidents for years and years the 4th official must have never seen. Yeah right.

What exactly was going on? And if you could rewind it, how come the BBC despite searching from many angles couldn’t find anything other than a grainy run of the mill jostling?

Once they showed the low angle. To me it looked like Jebbo tried to leg him up. That one where you kick the non standing leg so it hooks round the back of the other one. But he just clipped him. Seems harsh, but why oh why did he do it.

There’s nothing clear about that still picture whatsoever

Foul by their lad first surely ....
As Norwood picks up the ball in defence, Jebbison starts to make his run from just short of the halfway line. Tozer grabs him round the waist to stop his run as the ball goes over the top. Tozer knows he's got no chance in a race with Jebbo so has to slow him down, and as they break Jebbo has a retaliatory kick. Tozer should have picked up yellow for the block and conceded a free kick, but Jebbo gets red for reacting.

Tozer got booked and Jebbo got sent off for retaliation?

Where is the footage that confirms it ?

I thought that's what happened at the time. Then I re-watched it a few times and I couldn't decide if it was deliberate kick. So if that's the same video Hecky has watched I can understand him honestly saying he didn't see a kick. It's hard to rule out that Jebbo could just be trying to regain his balance, having been pulled back.

But post match the situation was zoomed up and showed in slow motion, and having had a look at that I think sadly Jebbo does react by giving his marker a tame kick. If we do appeal I don't think it'll be overturned.

Me too, because it would be admitting that the 4th official was lying.

Definitely NOT a red card despite what happened just before the 'incident' shown on bbc's OTT 'Lost in Hollywood' coverage.

As for Jebbo (unlike his last few games) played like the 19yr old he is today and let 'experienced' defenders get to him!. He'll mark it up on his learning curve!

“VIOLENT CONDUCT

Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made.

In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible.”

Was that “Brutality”?
‘There was a long ball over the top we both wanted to go for, so he pulled me back so he could get there first, so I tried to trip him up so I could get there first.’

No point appealing it and getting it raised to a 4 match ban.

one good thing about a replay is it takes up one of the banned games and Jebbo is available for the Boro fixture

Scott Oldham is the fella who was the 4th official he is a league 1 and 2 referee generally, biggest game he has reffed this season Plymouth v Ipswich.

Both players at fault there, if you send one off you have to do the other too. The "clash" maybe a player tripping up on a shit pitch
Yeah, a "deliberate yellow" is ten times worse than this and also stops a goal scoring opportunity.

Their player did not only instigate the whole thing but also retaliated at the end by "kicking out". Yet he only got a yellow.

I should have been sent off twice already today based on that bullshit, I barged into my daughter this morning while we were all rushing to leave the house, then even worse I brushed past someone while opening the door in tescos petrol station, the other bloke didn't go down clutching his face though which probably saved me.

Good nips.

Also, for everyone crying and moaning about why it shouldn't be a red card - you're wasting your energy. The FA aren't going to rescind a red card, and admit that one of their own made a mistake, because some keyboard warriors on a football forum are throwing their toys out of the pram.

FWIW I think that it is a red, because it's retaliation. It's a violent off-the-ball incident. I'd be concentrating my anger on the fact that their lad got off scot-free despite punching Bogle in the face with such force that it made his nose bleed.

Even Mark Hughes was amazed at 4th official stopping game and instructing ref to red card Jebbo. Said he was trying to get attention suggesting he was star struck 🤩 with the hollywoodisation of the tie.
