metalblade, post: 430424:

I won't quote your whole post but is it so odd to suggest that McCabe is the cause of many of our problems as well as the one keeping the wolves from the door?

Seems a decent summary to me.

Well Shoreham .........................IF

TC has been shown the door Mr McCabe should have reached an 'amicable' conclusion with TC and the pair of em should have made the announcement together. !

How do you know there hasn't been an 'amicable' conclusion and why should their be an announcement made about an employee being made redundant? What difference would it make and don't you think it would be rather insensitive to the other staff in the same situation?

The clue is the 'IF' bit........

hope this helps.

Anyone know the FACTS behind this; maybe we was offered voluntary and took it. Bit sad you're all taking aims at either the club or TC without knowing nothing any facts.

Knowing Mandy he will take him to pigsborough, stick him on the board and give him a statue
what he did was approx 3hrs a day work for a full time wage....thanks for the memories but our great club moves on!!

This thread lost it's way, was started about TC.

Still makes my hairs stand on end whenever I see him in the flesh. Best I've ever seen, thanks TC.

If the club has got rid so what, commercial decisions have to be made in business.

What part of we are in the third tier of English football, £50m+ in debt with no assets don't you understand ??? please please please tell me where the club is progressing or how a forum clearout of complaining posters will change anything in your goldfish bowl ???

It is a very small goldfish bowl..

;)

Kinda funny how most posters can admit that McCabe made bad choices etc allowed average players in most cases to be on top contracts which the club can't afford and in the next breath suggest we should be thankfull that he has honoured those contracts from his own pocket while at the same time stripping the club of assets (Bramall Lane & the Academy) and renting them back to us because we are in such a bad state we can't afford to pay him back even the interest on the loans he took out to pay the debts he ran up.
Sorry that is a weird way of thinking to me.

Maybe it's that way or the sheffnewco way?

Poor stuff, this. Not least the tiresome repetition of the ludicrous notions that Kevin McCabe:

a) Doesn't care about United - I know him, though not well. He does, passionately.

b) Has somehow feathered his own nest at our expense. A risible suggestion betraying a complete lack of understanding about running a professional football club. He's literally spent a fortune on SUFC, with no hope whatsoever of ever recovering more than a fraction.

Understand this - Our income does not match our expenditure. It hasn't for years. Who do you think makes up the shortfall? Tony Currie?

Another old chestnut: What's happened to the Walker/Naughton/Jagielka/Lowton/Sabella/Mick Jones money? In the Directors' pockets that's what!

Utter bollocks.

The money has gone to the Electric, Gas, Water companies. To painters, decoraters, builders, breweries and hardware stores. It's gone to stewards, gatemen, pie and programme sellers. It's gone to the Council, the Inland Revenue, the Police and Ambulance Service. It's gone to the milkman, the newsagent and the window cleaner. Most of all it's gone to Robson, Blackwell, Adams, Robinson and Birch. It's gone to Beattie and Hendrie. It's still going to Montgomery and Cresswell.

Anyone who wants McCabe out, please let him know the process by which he can leave without totally disabling our club. Give him a clue as to who is in the queue to make as much money out of SUFC as he obviously has. Tell him your vision and how you propose to realise it. He'll be delighted to hear from you.

I'm no starry-eyed sycophant. He's made dreadful mistakes and contributed more than most to our downfall, but for all that, without him we'd be not only down but out for the count.

Moving on:

No-one should be "cleared out" of the forum; but if you want to talk manifest, demonstrable nonsense don't take offence when someone notices!

Now then, about Monty....

What a refreshing change to read a post from someone with some common sense and a view of finances.
No one is perfect but why posters have to go on at length about matters they clearly have no clue about is beyond me.
We all love the club, well most of us, so lets give credit where it is due.
We are never going to win anything so just enjoy supporting a great club with great fans.

£50 million + in debt, it would seem like the people currently running SUFC don't have a great deal of common sense and as to the view on finances it could be said they clearly have no clue on the matter as you put it.
Hey ho be reyt............. we will never win anything.................... Not if the people in charge have a loser attitude like yours and continue to accept any old crap.

I suppose they could always chuck another £50mill at it

Can you get me your figures for this £50 in debt

The date on that article? 2010.

Please read this:

Specifically, the table entitled "Sheffield United Debt", and the following quote:
Net debt was cut from £57 million to £32 million in 2011 as a consequence of two steps: (a) a re-financing exercise in November 2010; (b) conversion of £17.2 million of loan notes into equity.

I don't want McCabe to put one more penny into the Blades,

I just want him to go.

same old same old

another season starting
McCabe getting slagged off mercilessly ,
Doom and gloom forecasts abound
Several players still have some fans wanting their executions

What a cheery band of merry men we are

I have already read that blog Tarquin........... I'm fairly sure I could pull a couple of sentences from a few thousand words in the blog to make McCabe look bad but I'm not going to as I think it is a cracking read giving a good insight into the problems and finances at SUFC. A blog I would recommend all Unitedites to read.
Still that was written early on in February 2012 before Ched was banged up and as we were looking good for a return to the Championship, if you think that paints a bad picture make sure you read the bit that outlines how income and TV revenue will drop even further this year......... even though McCabe is trying his best it is still quite a horror story.

That's right, you could. And it still wouldn't change the fact that you were wrong. All I was expecting from you was something along the lines of acceptance you were wrong. If it's too hard for you to type, I'll do the hard work for you to copy/paste.

Guys, I was wrong on the £50m figure I quoted earlier. Sorry about that.
