me to mate ,although we would have seen a young John Aldrige play , didn't he score a hat-trick that day ?
I went to that game and yes one of our darkest days!.
I walked out with a large potion of the game to go absolutely dire that day, ranks with the worst matches I have witnessed as a blade.
It was a long trip home .😏

Near the railway station from memory. Its ages since I've been there....Recall the pub close by...Handy for a pre match sherbert.

Wrexham railway station is just across the road from the ground if no strike that will be good.
Big pub side of the ground that welcomes away fans is also good.

The big Wrexham v Bromley match is on BT tonight if anyone fancies scouting them.

Saw them against Coventry. Like to get the ball in early, two goals from crosses..two goals from long throws. Ran out of steam against 10 men late on..

Coventry hit the post three times whilst down to 10.

I wouldn't give him a penny the bell end. I wunt mind going in though. Like a tourist attraction nowadays. Incredible what Rob and Ryan have done for the place. Both for the club and the wider community.

His comments on the "Hooligans" episode have single-handedly brought a few old Blades "heads" out of retirement 😂
Probably a decent boozer just don't like his attitude to staff and his opinions. Has his stoney mate stopped crying yet over his lass?

Yep. First ever meeting. Saw that. Division 2. 1978-79. Feb 28. Lost 4-0 away. A Wednesday night it was. Anyone else?

Wrexham ˈREK-səm; Welsh: Wrecsam
I was there and it was one of the coldest matches attended. The coppers confiscated a lads steel toe caps. He had gone straight from work! This match should be dedicated to him so come on Blades and win it for him.

Gary Broughton ?

Don`t know his name but saw him at most of the away games.
Strangely enough at about the same period of time , this happened at Bristol Rovers` Eastville ground.
The police let our fans have a fire from scrap wood and one was stood by it having a warm.
This away end was the worst view possible as you were at ground level. Aldershot was close behind. The players turned up late for the FA cup replay i think ( lost 1-0 in thick fog) and had to climb over the turnstyles with their kit.
Oh happy days!

Notts County vs Boreham is massive.
Finished 1-1. 3 points off top with 2 games in hand. NC have lost one all season, Wrexham, 2.

One of those for the title. I want Wrexham to do it as I think the owners have really took into it, McElhenney is almost fluent in Welsh now, that's as serious as you can get!! But then again I think it'd be funny if they didn't.

Long term I'd like to see how committed the owners are. The football league means higher wages to pay, transfer fees etc. Reynolds has the money in absolute buckets, but whether he commits to it more is another question.

Chesterfield have 4 games in hand. Win all those and they go a point behind NC. So don't discount them just yet.

Amen

Take a stand down and the whole atmosphere escapes as we well know, Notts County for promotion after hearing that ,easy win for us aswell 0-2.
Not after last night’s results !

Notts County owners have been good and open since they took over. Hopefully whichever of these is second can win the play offs.

Obviously I know far more of Wrexham than I do NC. Both clubs have got top goalscorers though - Mullin and Langstaff.

Broken nose Mitchell had his boots taken off him. And it snowed. And we lost 4-0. It was so bad that John Flood was our MOTM. Keep these things in mind when we start whinging about our current lot......
Surprised bent nose Mitch didn’t take his boots off and smash them into their heads. Great bloke and still as passionate as ever about the mighty Blades

Quick reminder that our current form of the past 11 matches, post the gift draw to Norwich has been P11 W9 D1 L1 F20 A7. A win percentage of 82%.

As we don't have an away game for a few weeks, the away form approaching that game will read P7 W6 D1 L0 F11 A3 with 4 clean sheets. A win percentage of 86%.

This is an interesting draw because it's not boring. I don't think anyone has disrespected them saying they are Non-League, this will be a walk in the park. We are simply not that sort of club and regularly find ourselves as historical underdogs despite our recent Premier League experiences

No issue with them being confident getting a home draw. No issue with them seeing a fellow Championship team as winnable after just having beaten Coventry. Though it's worth noting Coventry played a weakened team (serves them right) and despite 10 men for most of the second half, still had 61% possession, 22 shots to 9 with 10 corners to 3 and also hit the woodwork twice (just like we did when we lost to Coventry when they only won with a daft penalty after we dominated).

Be confident. But don't be disrespectful. I don't quite get the immediate, 'that's winnable' and 'we can beat them', 'they don't realise how good we are' type comments. Given the documentary we know they are a well funded National League team with a guy that was top scorer in League Two as their main asset and a big lad as his partner who used to be at Wimbledon.

But I think they need to reign in a bit of the disrespect that some are showing.

We are not the higher up prima donnas that turn up expecting to win. We are the hard working, high press, passing but can mix it, team who defend like Trojans and who have no lack of potency up front, be that quite possibly the best forward in the Championship or the Championship's all time leading scorer.

We won't take this lightly and as shown by the efficient dispatching of Millwall away, a daunting away fixture for many, we can make half a dozen changes and not weaken the first XI. We were still missing Lowe, Norrington-Davies, O'Connell, Clark, Fleck, Osborn, Arblaster, McBurnie, Brewster. Khadra yet were levels above a team that hadn't lost at home since mid-September,

Hopefully this can be a respectful, typical cup tie with any over-cockiness being dutifully punished.
Aye
But as I’m sure you are aware - it’s been proven 84.2% of all statistical data is fabricated !

Just think, if we lose, it’ll forever be available on Disney fucking plus for everyone to see, alongside baby yoda and dumbo, edited up to fuck to make us look like cunts. Yay! 🤲

People will never need to come up with any clever shit to rip us. All they’ll need to do is send us a link. Forever.

Don’t fuck this one up Heckmondo
Aye
Just like that bastard George Best goal from 1972 !

Played Sunday football against Mitch in the mid 80s. The whole of their team turned up in crammed into an old ice-cream van. He was centre forward and I was centre half. He spent all the match whinging to the ref that I was the biggest, clumsiest cunt he'd ever played against. Probably a fair assessment. Anyhow, we beat them easily, and we shook hands at the final whistle, allaying my fears that he would come for some afters. Maybe 'cos we recognised each other as Blades....

im going to take a guess. that we will find our fate today because looking at the other draws, they seem to be 5 days apart (if the draw date is included). this season 3rd round draw was 28th. TV ties were announced on 2nd december & in 2021/22 the 4th round draw was on 9th january & TV ties announced on the 13th.

so following that & their logic. 4th round draw on 8th & TV ties on the 12th

I think the bonfire was at Blackburn, from memory, the view at Eastville wasn’t bad at all.
