AA: I aim to score in every game.
SUW: So that's a target of 46 for the season then?
AA: Yes. I mean obviously that's not going to happen but...
SUW: Not with that attitude it isn't!

Brilliant

Loved that Hal and Nick, only gripe I have is it wasn’t longer! Because I absolutely loved Marcelo.

Hope you guys do tap up his ex Blades contacts, the three foreign players he mentioned Katchkuro, Borbokis, Dellas, would all make interesting videos to see if they enjoyed it as much as Marcelo did.

Brilliant Hal and Nick my best memories was his goal against Wolves 1-0 win great to see and hear him again 👏 👍🏻 😀

Me n my mate used to say he used to play well when he was riled up, we, d say "look, marcelos getting mad" 😂
Great player

Very under-rated player.

That team should have achieved more and then he was part of the big sell off as MacDonald lost interest and it was about balancing the books.

His goal against Wolves took the pain away that week from the Deane/Fjørtoft sale.

Often wondered the status of his goal against Arsenal in the replayed game. Those goals and appearances ought to still stand rather than being expunged from the record books.

Ten minutes away from a replay at home, where not long before Carl Veart had knocked them out. Should have conceded a goal right away from the kick off as Bielsa made Leeds do. It was absolute nonsense that we had to play away again given we were set to bring them home. A re-run at their ground was a huge let off for them. We should have refused to play on unless they allowed a goal from kick off. I remember being in the away end chanting “Bruce, Brucey take ‘’em off”.

Very good interview and he comes over as a likeable guy now, just as he did as a player. He achieved that wonderful ‘cult hero’ status that makes you remember players and his Coventry celebration was instantly iconic.

These interviews are great to get you through the working day.

It would be nice to hear from Pyotr Kachura as I believe his name is in his own language though he was Peter Katchouro when with us!

To think we had Deane, Fjørtoft, Saunders, Taylor, Walker, Katchouro, Andy Scott, an emerging Lee Morris and Marcelo all in the books in the 97-98 season!

After watching this decided to watch the whole 97/98 season review.
The Marcelo goal at Coventry is at 52 minutes.

What a mad season.

* selling Deane & Jan - terrible decision.

* the fan knocking the linesmen out.

* Coventry replay at home. What a game, probably one of the underrated classics (not a bad idea for a thread) we’ve had.

* unlucky against Newcastle

* Borbokis free kick in the play off.

We had a team of top flight players under a rookie manager. It still pisses me off when I think about it, the ground we’ve lost on other clubs when we could have gone up and probably stayed up for a while if we’d just gone for an experienced, competent manager instead of a novice. I remember MacDonald saying he never wanted Spackman but was persuaded by “other board members”. I can guess who one of them was. He didn’t fucking learn either.

Yes, definitely this YorkBlade - some of my favourite ever Blades players right there.

Good to see you and Nick together again. The content of your mug suggests you are not taking United seriously, but Cyprus festive period suits you sir. ;)

I once visited Cyprus, I went to a all you drink/eat/free shopping shop. It was amazing but as I was walking around, I was harassed, set up, shot at etc. I can list him but I won't.

My favourite Cypriot restaurant was in Limassol. Called the Newcastle. As regulars we failed to find the Newcastle connection. Despite the number of delicacies on offer, (Kleftiko was an favourite) and however much beer, wine, Keo or tasty desserts we ordered, the price was always the same. Ten Cypriot pounds for two of us. Nice round number. :)

Really enjoyed that, thanks Hal & Nick.

Loving that story about Kozluk & Derek Dooley 🤣🤣

Is Gary retiring and leaving us soon? That's going to be weird not hearing his voice every week :(
