I'm not going to bother to start a new thread to make an observation, but does anyone else notice that when Wes kicks out of his hands he's almost always outside the box?

Loads of keepers do that. They chuck the ball forward a little bit, but make contact outside of the box.

Think it has been going on a little longer than that. And although his distribution is never great, it seems to be getting worse. He never manages to find a red and white shirt when he's in possession. It's a worry.

That reminds me, he got booked yesterday for handling the ball outside the box, but on the replay it looked like the ball (and Wes’s hands) were inside the box, although he was stood outside the box (his feet were outside). Anybody know what the actual rule is?

The only time I've seen a ref/linesmen give a free kick for the keeper kicking it outside the box was against us. Phil Kite at Elland Road in 1991 and of course bloody Sterland scored the subsequent free kick.

It’s where the ball is when he handles it that counts. Where his feet are is irrelevant.
