Wouldn't bother me too much.

For most of his time with us, he's struggled to reach average Championship standard. He was decent in the Premier League but maybe that was a fluke because apart from that 1 season and the last month he's been pretty poor. His recent form shows he DOES have potential but I'm not 100% convinced he's worth a big outlay.

Think several Championship clubs would be interested
but I doubt any PL would want him unless he's a back up squad player and is relatively cheap.
When he gives 100% effort and shows strength and aggression that he can be an asset in certain situations.

We saw potential, took a risk hoping he'd improve.
Some Championship players do, look how Watkins, Toney, Bowen have all improved since joining the Premier League.

McBurnie was OK in the PL, not a success or a failure.
However until recently he's struggled quality wise at Championship level, although he worked hard, so deserves some credit.

Probably because ‘close to a return’ doesn’t mean fit enough to make the bench.
