Think you can take it at this stage that his arrival is not pending, perhaps on some distant horizon, there could be a glimpse of a player destined for the shores of BDTBL, but at the moment the wind seems to be blowing all the new arrivals off course, and also keeping those we don't want firmly anchored here........

Thanks for the nautical answer. I am involved in the industry still and unfortunately I've just had to take a job back on the ogin which means I can only see the Blades 2 weekends in 6 next season.

I was getting a bit miffed by the East coast Rangers and Philli Blades displaying their allegiance. So thought I would display mine for a while. Sorry I didn't get a dialogue with you this year through the playoffs it was over before I had chance to ask you whats going on. Hopefully next year will be better. Thats two years in a row we have lost to the winners.

Looks likely Luongo will leave; just need to make sure we get someone useful in return and not just a salary dump. Interesting times a foot.
 
Just prelonging the agony...where will this ALL end?! as far as im looking at it, this season will look like a mid table -9 goal difference type season.
Who can honestly say they're confident? No recognised No1 keeper, our RB and CB are linked with championshio clubs, our 3 best midfielders (Quinny, willo and Kmac) look to be going sooner or later, and our striking options are DIRE! i cant see anyone stepping up from the academy to score the goals, work in the engine room or keep the goal out for 46-48 games! Even our manager sound like hes giving up in interviews! McCabe needs to start talking to the fans, revealing if there is a MASS plan to get us in the top two..if we have money and generally shed some light in this awful situation! With his personal wealth abnd 'love@ for the club..its about time he showed his passion and signed players...show the rest of the league were coming back fighting...right now were the joke of the league! UTB :/

The joke of the league who are the bookies favs to go up - I know that means nothing but, for now i'm more than happy with the situation - lost the deadwood, kept who we wanna keep (for now) and if they do leave plenty of time to replace them - 8 weeks to be precise!

I had understood that Lou was a bit of a chain around the neck salary wise especially with the cap coming in. Cory seems to do a job and theres that kid in the minors they are excited about. But hopefully someone who can do well in the playoffs will replace Lou if he goes. I think the Canucks were unlucky this year with Danny Sedin injured in the first three game in the 1st round of the playoffs. They need both the twins firing and also Kesler at full strength to make it work. Also the trade of Hodgson may not of paid off. According to what I've read in the Vancouver Sun the team needs "big guys with NHL skills". This is what I have gleaned this side of the Atlantic anything you know from the horses mouth would be most welcome.

You don't seem to have a handle on the club at all are you actually a Blade? The reason we are in this period of stasis is due to not quite realising the budget that's all. There is going to be a sea change this year that Danny is itching to get going on other clubs are suffering due to budget restrictions which the Blades can cash in on. Most players contracts go on for another week and most are on holiday. He isn't bad in interviews at all and is probably more frustrated than anything to get going. We have targets all over the place but can't do everything until K McD and Willo have made up their minds. How can we be the joke of the league when the make up of the squad is not formed yet?

Love this. I support the Canucks too after going to Canada in 2003 with the family. We went to a play-off game vs St Louis Blues and I've followed it ever since. NHL play-offs though put football league play-offs to shame. 2011, all it took was Tim Thomas to have a stormer and the best team in that year were denied the ultimate honour. I know it's a different culture and all that but something doesn't feel quite right when that happens!
 
Do I count as a canucks fan. Parents went to Canada a few years ago and brought me a Canucks puck back... It's sitting in my office here in Switzerland

2003 still had Lindon who was part of the last Stanley cup 7 game final team and has the Sedin twins and Kesler. You got to see players from both era's. Thats pretty good.

Yes unfortunately it was near enough the first game of hockey I'd ever watched so I wasn't very aware of who was a legend/who to look out for. Todd Bertuzzi was my favourite player at first which gives you some indication of how ignorant I was! Chris Osgood was in net for St Louis as well and I remember him being mockingly serenaded which was fun. Looking back it's a great thing to have been to, I still have the towel and of course a new team to support. I didn't follow it as much as I would have liked this season, last season I was following it closely and the 08-09 season when I was a student I listened to nearly all the games due to a typical student sleep cycle. It's my dream that when I'm a bit older and have the money I'll be able to fly across for a Stanley Cup final game.... it's good to dream!

You're right much as I love the Canucks the blades are way ahead in my life, priorities, psyce etc. I should confine any discussions on them to the "other Sport" forum and will do so.
Hopefully other "puckers" will join me rather than in an igloo.
 
Igloo? Vancouver is the same latitude as Paris. As I look out of my window at the moment it's beautiful with bright blue skies :)
