I just think it's a bit hypocritical to try and forcibly move people who have built up friendships over many years, and stop them sitting together, so a bunch of people can decide seemingly at random where they want to stand and be with THEIR mates.
I agree the atmosphere has been poor at times recently, but during the first prem season, the problems near me were nowhere near as bad as they have been recently, and the atmosphere was electric.
Example - there is a family group that sit/stand near to me. The eldest is probably in his 80's at best guess. He can't stand up for great lengths of time, but they've had these seats for at least 20 years. By your argument, he should move, so a young lad who wants to stand can have his seat. Therefore, if the group wantst to stay together, they would ALL have to move (and several of them do contribute, greatly, to the atmosphere).
Why is this any more fair or reasonable than a group of 20 year olds all wanting to stand together. It seems like you almost want to punish the people who aren't breaking any rules, in order to reward the people (some of) who have contributed to the current situation by ignoring what it says on their ticket, with a "fuck it, we'll do what we want" attitude.
