McCabe's Plan?

The usual McCabe plan is to blow warm air up the fans arses until the ST sales are all done then sell any young player who has a bit of potential.............. more of "well we tried for X but his club had a sudden injury crisis or we tried for Y but he went to a championship club or Z the fax machine broke down minutes before the deadline"
And the gullible Unitedites fall for it every year twice a year.

Aye, that's right. I know loads of Unitedites who think we're going to sell players, right up to the point that McCabe says otherwise then they buy their season tickets. That's loads, as in none.

UTB

Still, at the time that Evans got sent down we had the following players available.

Hoskins
Cresswell
Porter
BT
O'Halloran

What else should we have done?
The day after Evans went down against MK Cresswell was unavailable due to his torn up shoulder from the previous game,Hoskins started but left in the second half with his hernia never to return.
It quickly fell apart not just the shock of Evans but Cresswell out and Hoskins quick exit the players must have felt the rug had truly been pulled out from beneath them in such a short time.

As i've mentioned before, McCabe probably wants out, and it's a damn sight easier to sell a championship club than a league one club. It does him no good whatsoever to languish down here for longer than need be.......

McCabe has wanted out since we got relegated from the PL and all that has happened is the shit has hit the fan ever since he said it. Like I said before the other day if the man at the top has lost interest that eventually rubs off on everyone below.

People who understand this Club, and would then put money into it, are not what I would call Investors.

There is probably a Medical Term for it ........... :)
I think that is what he is meaning. Investors who will put money in, but not wanting much back out.
Basically fans with a decent chunk of money to throw at us, through blind loyalty only expecting an executive seat in return.

Like Mike Blundell who paid some money to go on the board. Wednesday did it in the 90's where I think 6 directors all paid £1m to be on the board. Unfortunately they let Dave Richards loose on the HP paperwork and signature

Until he opened his gob.
Yeah a come and get them plea if ever I heard it.

He was asked directly by Paul Walker about the two, hinting that they would be being chased by clubs higher up the leagues.

What else could he have responded with, other than they are not for sale and he'd love to keep hold of them?

There is also the issue of setting the expectancies of fans, and players.

Remeber: Man City were in the 3rd division not too long ago.
only for one season though.. and they won their playoff

this football thing is easy.. i don't get what all of the fuss is about.. all you have to do is make sure that your main midfielder and striker are a high quality 'FOR THE LEVEL YOU ARE PLAYING AT'.. take those two players out of a team.. ANY team and you are f**ked..
no i don't expect us to sign lionel messi.. but there must be some players out there at dogworth town or whatever that would love to come and play for a team like us and would be stand out players at this level. K Mac is a prime example.. i'd be euphoric if he stayed (and monty left but you can't have everything)

ps the season has now ended and the maestro bashing will now resume

"ps the season has now ended and the maestro bashing will now resume"

Just don't over do it or you'll go blind by the start of next season

What else should we have done?

hoskins ????? not match fit
cresswell - pass it
porter- not good enough
beattie- not fit, waste of time.was it 2 starts and 2 red cards
o,halloran- quick but seems to dwell with the ball too long

in other words what was required is a quality player that is fit

Be interesting to find investors that 'understand this great club'. The problem with investors is they generally want a profit (can't blame them). It is rare these days to find a chairman that is willing to throw money at a club.
buy high, sell low.
