They should have been so hungry for that tonight, chance to go top and cement that recent from, Saturday now feels downgraded, what a waste and a let down, wind well and truly taken out of us.

Well done Millers though, came with a plan and it worked.

We won’t go up in autos if we can’t beat the teams in the bottom half……

Got to admit, I don't think I've ever left the lane so embarrassed.

I mean ROTHERHAM! Ffs

I especially felt sorry for my young son watching that. Said to him "We don't usually do that against them..."

I can't fathom the difference 3 days has made to the team that looked hungry against Burnley (2nd half mostly) to a game that is probably more important to the fans with it being a derby and important to the club with 1st place dangling there like a carrot.

Weirdly, I'm not even disappointed.

I'd pretty much readied myself for this because it is what we do.

There wasn't even a moment of controversy our way.

Don't know who gets the blame for the goal but 2 players sucked into going for the same ball and leaving a man completely unmarked. Schoolboy stuff.

This is what this league can be like.

In the first half we made a few half openings and passes.
But opening up Rotherham's defence esp. 2nd half pretty much never happened.
Egan should have done bit better with his chance. And Norwood had 3 free kicks and all 3 were well over.
Mcburnie unfortunate his shot hit the keeper in the face.

Got to give some credit to Rotherham there. Defended well, kept their shape, gamesmenship and pressed us well.

Their keeper was still wasting time 2nd half but then again they should have had a pen.

To leave a striker totally unmarked from 8 yards out in the middle of our box is baffling. Ball watching at its finest.

This is because the standard this season in this league is the poorest it’s been probably ever! Keep saying it , it’s abysmal. Hence why we are seeing all these weird results. Except they’re not that weird it’s because every team is so bang average but are all on more or less the same level. With our squad we really should be going up

I actually don't think it is the poorest it's been ever at all.

It fluctuates a bit for sure but it's similar to how it's been past several years. Sometimes you have one or two stand out teams and that might still happen to be honest.

We should be walking away with this league with the players we have in terms of ability.

Whether you question the manager or the players is up to you.

But the points we've dropped even just at home of late is shameful.

2 dropped vs a hapless Norwich who we had to give a goal start to. 2 vs Blackpool against whom the game was tied up within half an hour. 2 vs Brum when Basham decided to go totally walkabout. 3 vs QPR in a game we had 20 shots and tonight vs Rotherham.

12 points dropped against that lot.

Don't deserve to go up if you're tossing points away like that. A half decent effort and we'd be top with a margin.

The coaching staff have got to look at themselves and so have the senior pros. Where were they all tonight?

Was a nailed on pen too.

We were awful tonight, and they executed their game plan perfectly.

Well done Rovrum

So many teams this season, when having the chance to go top, have fluffed their lines. We can add our names to the list.
Well played Rotherham, deserved the win tonight.

Agree that the top end isnt the greatest but The bottom of the division is probably the highest standard it’s ever been.

In previous seasons that West Brom team would be near the top but this season they are in the relegation places. Some decent teams are going to be relegated this season.

Absolutely bang on the money, we should be pissing the league with the squad we have at our disposal.

We look very disorganised and unfit in quite a few games, it’s strange to watch at times, that looked atrocious tonight it really did.

Fair point but it’s nearly Christmas and we haven’t got 1 outstanding team , no real quality in the league and for me it’s there for the taking who ever really wants it.

You sound very entitled. It was a game both teams were trying to win, Rotherham came out on top.

Might as well admit it we have a team of surrender monkeys who thought all they had to do was stroll around the pitch. I can take being beaten by a better team what I can't take is being beaten by a team that work harder than we do. How can the players not be up for a local derby you have to question if Hecky is the right man for the job after last night debacle.

Agree, it does reflect badly on him that debacle last night.

Got to give some credit to Rotherham. They wanted it more, dug in deep and kept Ndiaye and McBurnie very quiet all night.

Watching Ndiaye last night reminded me of Rooney in his England pomp resorting to having to drop deep to collect the ball, not a criticism of Ndiaye at all it just wasn't happening poor performance an off night it's just so typical Blades left with a bloody nose. Well done Miller's gameplan executed. the worst bit was they didn't even park the bus.. UTB

We looked tired and devoid of ideas. The decision not to rotate backfired spectacularly. Worse than that, it means those players will be knackered Saturday too.

And then Hecky did his favourite tactic of dropping him into midfield in favour of lumbering Billy whos greatest contribution to the game was to be offside.

We can beat teams in the bottom half, but not at BL when they close us down.
A lack of ability to successfully take on opposing players is the problem at present. The return of Berge and/or Bogle along with Ndiaye should partially solve that problem ( and a left sided midfielder in the JTW ?)
