Having already lost 3 and never scored, and experienced the chronic heartache of losing 2nd spot to Wendy I should be incredibly worried about next weekend, but I'm not at all. So much has happened this season, so much adversity - feels like 5 seasons not one.

We're going to Wembley with a patched up side. They've been through the mill and come back out again. Losing at Wembley can't be worse than losing out to Wendy, so I'm determined to enjoy the occasion nd back the team, loud and proud. We're massive underdogs but who cares, we are Blades!

Anyone else experiencing zen like calm? Or just me?

Wizaaaaaaaards

Aye, wouldn't say I feel optimistic but certainly not nervous. Going without expectation means I'll probably be able to enjoy the day!

No nerves here. I'm relishing the thought of seeing my team at the home of football (:)) for only the 4th time.

i'm not really nervous either.. i've realised that it isn't about winning as much as it is about the craic, so i'd like to win but won't be slitting my wrists if we don't .. i've really enjoyed this season. honest, watchable football.. beating teams up 4-1 after giving them a goal start.. great entertainment

I'm not nervous, I fully expect the blades to fail to turn up and for us to lose. Determined to enjoy the day though..

Looking at the Huddersfield forum, they're generally pretty confident. They reckon with our striker crisis we can't score, and they'll have too much for us.

It's an odd situation. The bookies reckon we'll win, but the fans of both clubs seem to have a shared belief that Hudderfield will win.

There's an old adage that you're only as good as your last game. On that basis, Huddersfield are shite.
Let's give the fear and trembling a rest and back our team, shall we? We showed we could do it on Monday night. Let's be 'aving yer!

The Blades Are Going Up!!!!!

As Tom Jones once said, it's only pressure if you can't handle it

Just want us to turn up this time.

Because I don't expect to win the pressure is off. Was impressed with Quinn saying the dressing room attitude is very focused. That's good. C'mun Blades gerrin there!

No expectations. Obviously want the win but if we do lose then overall we have had a good season albeit poorer in recent weeks and the club seems to be in a must better place than 365 days ago - just relegated, manager merry go round, poor performances etc.

As for turning up at the big games then my memory is that against Palace we were pretty well matched. It was the first half at Wolves that sticks in the memory, however don't forget we got the penalty (saved) and hit the woodwork and their keeper got MOM in the end. 3-0 was not a fair reflection of the game and Neil getting a red card probably didn't help. Sat in the car for 2 hours not moving outside Cardiff on the way home didn't lighten the mood either.

I'd be more nervous if we didn't have a calm and composed manager who is able to shuffle the team and get the best out of the squad. I have no expectations that we'll win but I at least expect a professional and honest performance and for that I'm happy for the first time in years.

We do have a striker crisis but in big games it is not always the strikers that get the winner.
The last time the two teams met it was Collins that scored !

Speaking of which, how fitting would it be for Collins or Captain Doyle to bag the winner after the seasons they've had?

That would top of the season nicely.

I think the squad as probably got over the turmoil of the past few weeks. The shit that's happened would have put quite a few top clubs in a fix let alone us. But things have calmed a little now. DW as got the team focused as we saw against stevenage, and I expect united to be back to the same old, just like the beginning of the season when ched wasn't playing. Blades for me 2-1 and easier than the score suggests. UTB.

As Tom Jones once said, it's only pressure if you can't handle it

I was once diagnosed with a condition called Tom Jones Syndrome. I asked the consultant whether it was rare disease?

He said: "It's not unusual."

I know the outcome already, hence a hefty bet on the udders to do it 1 or 2 nowt. That way my expenses for the day and some are covered.... so yeah no pressure for me just gunner enjoy the day. Would just be nice to score in a big game, i still remember Mr Cork ..........

Rhodes opener, Porter diving header equaliser then a Monty thunderbolt - from 40 yards!!

Now that's a good idea!

The other 00.01% is Mystic Meg I take it ??????? any chane of next weeks euro millions numbers per chance?

Doesn't matter what's gone before it, it's a wembley final and losing yet again would be a real heartbreaker. Fed up of hearing "unlucky lads", please football gods, just this once let us be the team that ends up celebrating. Getting more uptight as the week's going on, seeing us win a final at wembley at last would mean more than words could say.

footballs about excitment and enjoyment for me, not winning. its about the pleasure of seeing us at Wembley stadium. as long as they play well and try n play good stuff like they have this season, obviously id rather they win but i dont mind if they dont.

and in my mind, we're not underdogs.

Don't mind that outlook but, we were crap against Palace, crap against Wolves and awful against Burnley and to cap it off we lost them all. I didn't enjoy the day out. and certainly not the results and the drive home? Well, not even worth talking about. A good performance would be nice, but in truth I wouldn't mind us stinking the place out.......and winning for once :)

i feel i need to add a point here - i didnt go to any of those games! so its easy for me to say that i guess,. but i do have tickets for this sat.

however when i was 9 i did go to the semi vs Weds in 1993 and have a 4 hour drive home with 3 Wendys. as u can imagine, i was a little upset that day!

I agree with the opening post, nothing will make up for the fact we blew a 10 point lead to wednesday of all teams. I'm so gutted about that, that losing on saturday wouldn't be much of a sickner to be honest. If anything most people on here almost expect us to lose including myself due to our record of not turning up at wembley.

I'm going with my 8 yr old son and am just grateful for the opportunity to watch his face as he sees all the thousands of fellow Blades in and around the stadium and to sit alongside him as we watch 'our' team play in such magnificent surroundings. Whatever the result I know he'll remember this day with his Dad for the rest of his life and it's difficult to put a price on that. :)
