What I don't get is why doesn't he score goals for us that often?

Yet he plays a handful of games a year for Ireland and pops up with a goal or two.

I think he's under instruction to stay deeper, which I don't mind so much now that Anel has taken up the more attack minded role. That doesn't excuse him having a 50p head whenever he pulls a red and white shirt on mind.

I'm more concerned about his overall defensive form at present. I don't know if anybody else has mentioned him having a go at the kop yesterday, but that really wasn't the game to do it given his performance.

Egan relies a lot on the defenders either side of him. When you think about it we need a Bash to be on his game or a JLT to be on their game because they cover weaknesses in Egan's game. Usually the ball over the top. Anel being injured along with JOC and JLT and throw in Bash being badly out of form then its no surprise we now see Egan struggle.

Hopefully Anel's injury was just a blip and it allows Egan to be back to his best. I've never fancied Basham as an out and out defender anyway, I think he thrives in a more defensive midfield position myself, it's just that we've had no reason to use him there for ages. But like you say, he's also seriously off the boil at the minute.
It's just a costly time to have so many injuries and bad results when we've got 7 games this month, I'm hoping it doesn't bite us on the arse going forward.

Injuries were always going to catch up with us but as we know something isn't right there.

Yeah it's pissing me off, never known anything like it. It can't just be down to sheer bad luck, even by our standards.
Whether it's coaching, conditioning or the training facilities, the buck has to stop somewhere.

It really was Badly timed given the overall performance of the team to that point and the fact our midfield had literally that second let their player walk through on goal!

He soon shut up and turned round when he realised he was getting no change from the fans.

Probably wanted a bit of atmosphere going. We'd gone 2-0 up and it was quite and nervous, it's not the best way to drive a team on.

Egan showed what he thinks of our support there ..... and he's right

Fair play to him for trying. Don't think he'll try again

I think it's more admirable by the way that he did it despite knowing he was having a poor game. Easy to give it all that when it's going well

I am pretty sure he was just asking the best fans in the world to stop fighting each other (not sure if that was before or after him geeing us up) and get behind a team that have dropped in confidence and playing like Fanny’s.

I didn’t see anyone giving him a load of Fucks back. If so, are those sat around me on kop that triggered by a gesture of support and togetherness…………..#kopsgonewoke
