Remember seeing him in The Sidewalk Cafe on Chapel Row having a coffee with a couple of other players about 2 or 3 hours before kick off one Saturday. Different game back then.

Very good player and a big part of a very good team. RIP big man.

RIP a Blades favourite.

Always remember him stepping up to take a penalty at the BL end against Spurs instead of Woodward and the crowd showing a bit of disconcertment as usually Woody would step up and bang the spot kick away with his usual accuracy and positivity. Eddy calmly placed it and sent Jennings sprawling. Remember reading about it in either the Green Un or Lane Line Up and him feeling 'a bit narked' at the crowd's reaction.

He was a typical steady Eddy, no frills, just committed football from a very good midfielder

A very elegant player and a sad loss. Loved watching him play, especially at Old Trafford in Bobby Charltons penultimate game for them. Keith scored the winner in a 2-1 win for us with a magnificent strike from distance. Was at the game.
Beat me to it. I was also at that match. As you say, elegant and quite tall. Strangely never seems to get mentioned when talking of the United of that era.

RIP

RIP.

No age these days when folks are living until into their 90s.

Part of a successful era for the club.

Just had so much time on the ball. A lovely composed footballer, the Tottenham away win still a stand out remembrance, think i was stood on the famous 'shelf'.
Keith Eddy would have stood out even more in today's game with the passing out from the back, a skill which he was a master at, very much like Beckenbauer.

My Dad used to call him 'Nelson', which perplexed the 10 year old me, but evidently after the American actor and baritone singer of the 30's and 40's.

I've only just discovered this having looked it up, always assumed it was a reference to Lord Nelson.

So there you go.

Classy player. RIP Keith.
