This was our shirt when I became a fan, so I've got fond memories from it. At the time I liked drawing and remember thinking it was quite easy to draw it; the thin stripes with a red and black pen and that was it, the Sheffield United shirt right there. Purely aesthetically I've never been convinced it's great though?

This just popped up in my facebook feed:

And it must also have influenced Haaland's D&G suit here:

So maybe better than I thought? What did you think of it at the time?

My very earliest memories of United begin with that home shirt. There have been better, but that one is the most special for me.

Looks like Bladey pyjamas.

Earliest shirt I can remember, it's one of the absolute classics looking back now. Loved it at the time too. Didnt realise it was so fashionable 😆

I was born in 1991 so have no memories of it and think it was OK especially as (so far) it has turned out to be a one off. I own one in almost mint condition purchased from Classic Football Shirts.

The 87-90 shirt before it without the black pinstripes has become my all time favourite. I want to buy one but they don't come up for sale that often presumably because there aren't that many knocking about now or people are just wanting to keep hold of them, and when they do they can sell for £300+. I do have a replica version though bought off eBay earlier this year as a long sleeve however the font for the Laver sponsor is still very similar but different to the original.

The deck chair shirt. I supported United a few years before that - at the end of McEwan/beginning of Bassett, but this is the first shirt I bought.
Unlike today where they are identical to match shirts, I was disappointed there was no sponsor and no block for a number back then, compared to the players' shirts. Times have changed obviously.
My Umbro has fallen off so I've carefully redrawn it with permanent black pen.

Well known fact, this shirt also appeared in Batman Begins

I got mine from Hamley's on the Moor the day we got drummed by Boro 6-0. Yes they sold football kits! They were selling them off. Our piggy neighbour (an adult) thought it funny to rub in the result to me and my brother (two under tens!) as we played out on the front in our new kits. Stay classy....

Love the neck/collar on that shirt.

This is the unofficial replica I got off eBay I mentioned, I still had to buy it even though it's not the original.

One of my favourite shirts, I'm just waiting for United to make it as a replica and I'll be buying it no doubt! I did have it as a kid - my first ever kit. However a moment of total stupidity on my part meant I lost it! We were driving along the M1, I took my United shirt off and decided that I wanted to have it as a flag so to speak out of the window so I wound down the window, put my United shirt so that only the arm was inside the car and the rest waving in the wind outside but I got it wrong, I can't remember if I didn't put the window up properly or just opened the window and didn't realise it would blow off so quick, but either way it flew off and that was that! I remember asking my dad to stop in the hard shoulder but obviously he didn't!

The shirt itself came in a carboard box, a thin black box with the centre missing so you could see the shirt I seem to recall?!

Came across this on eBay if anyone fancies helping Haaland revive it into a fashion cult:

Imagine going to the Crucible in this next year ;) 😆
