Prince Abdullah is planning to be in attendance for Sheffield United's home match vs QPR on Tuesday. The United owner will be joined by members of United World + he plans to catch up with the club's senior figures, including Paul Heckingbottom

Lucky bugger

I’m working in London and having to miss it

Maybe he’s using my season ticket ? . If so hope he gets the same response as I did from front house catering in the family stand when I ordered my pie and peas on Saturday - which was - do you want them together ?

gerrin a boo from me.

FFS, can only mean he's coming to say he needs a big clear out in January to cash in. Forcing Hecky to get league 2 loan players.
What a twat. I just knew it.

I think we take the same course of action as that Wednesday fan did when he bowed at Chansiri. We can simply get on our knees and worship, easy.

What chance does the unfortunate guy have of raising further investment from his Saudi contacts now that their Govt owns dem Barcodes ?
Ain't no way they're gonna want competition from us upstart Blades in the EPL.
If we were to get promoted , huge unspoken conflict of interest problems shall we experience.
No wonder our owner & his entourage announced they were running for the hills + out of the public eye.
I imagine he's tried without success to sell us and the more we look like promotion candidates , the more his ownership becomes politically uncomfortable for him.
And I like the guy.
He's done everything within his power to back us.
But the combination of our relegation + the Barcodes takeover must have taken its toll on him.
If only he could find some finance from anywhere but Saudi to give us a boost in January...

What else could he do when his extended family / govt / SIF have bought dem Barcodes ?
More Saudi owned teams in prem is good news for Saudis. There's no way we are competing with the richest club in the world if we got any more investment anyhow.

Hopefully they’re getting together early to set out what our strategy will be in January.

Like I said on the catering thread - these people are idiots.

He ought to go and try the food and is like, then he can find out for himself how poor the catering is.
Then do summat about it.

Good to hear and overdue. Maybe just maybe the local hacks can get an interview out of him. Here's a few questions of my own;

1. What is the plan for SUFC, not United World, moving forward. Will we retain our identity as a separate club and not be consumed under a UW banner for all things? What are the short term tangible benefits now for SUFC in remaining part of UW?

2. Are we still up for sale. If so why? Is it a failure to attract investors, time for PA to move on and make a return on the Club or has he reconsidered in the light of PH's current success. Can PA take the opportunity to dispel the rumour that he is having to step down because of Saudi involvement in the bar codes.

3. PA and the Board are to be congratulated on the appointment of PH and team and the support in the last transfer window. Yet should the Club achieve promotion to the EPL this season shouldn't that be the time to reconsider the UW model. SUFC is and will be the premier club in the UW structure by some considerable distance. Shouldn't the Clubs infrastructure be adapted to that befitting of an EPL club. Namely a management structure in Sheffield that supports the football side in terms of investment and recruitment strategy. A Director of Football responsible for recruitment and investment as a minimum.

4. The biggest obstacle to the Club progressing is the sub standard training and medical support facilities. The injury list for the last 12 months is testament to a failure to upgrade this key area. Will this be addressed immediately in the event we achieve promotion?

5. Have we revised plans in view of the good start? Will we be reverting back to Berge's buy out clause value of £35m rather than trying to flog him for £10m less. In other words are we sticking or twisting and not attempting to de rail our promotion charge by retaining not selling assets in the JTW.

6. What is currently driving the decisions around renewal of player contracts? Will PH's views be taken into account or is a potential fall in revenue the overall driver?

7. Logically there will be 2 plans in place one for the EPL and one staying in the EFL. Plan A for the EPL surely has to now include future partnerships and investment in addition to just relying on TV money alone as we were unable to compete financially last time. Can we have an honest assessment of Plan B if we fail to go up. Will there be a fire sale of assets?

8. Is PA's heart still in SUFC or has he realised he has taken us as far as he can and its time to pass the baton on to someone with the financial fire power to help us consolidate in the EPL. Preferably someone who can prove they have the funds to do this, not Mr Mauriss.

Has HRH come to finalise the sale of the club ?
All gone a bit quiet on that red herring front.
