It's a hard sell for Monty in his defence.....

Do you want to go to Newcastle in the PL, get paid a lot and go out on loan for a bit to see if you're good enough or go to the Mighty Blades, get paid peanuts and end up getting crocked playing for a 2nd division Belgian team and then probably not getting a work permit at the end of it?! Tough choice for the lad.

Do you want to get paid two grand a week or twenty?

What links?… It was out former owner Kevin McCabe who acquired shares in CC Mariners was it not? And am in incorrect in thinking that these were held by the Scarborough Group and nothing to do with our club, likewise the same with Chengdu?

The whole thing came about as a result of McCabe’s ambitions to crack Chinese and Australian markets… In my opinion more a typical McCabe / Scarborough business move, than anything that would ever bare fruition for our club.

HRH now has United World doesn’t he and I would imagine this is now the extent of inter club relations? Monty is obviously an ex blade and will no doubt continue to try and utilise his long time at the club, by tapping us up for any appropriate young talent.

But we have no business advantage what so ever… business with CC is the same as with any other club.

An alternative perspective would be do you want to play first team football much sooner for a team with a good chance of promotion, under a manager with a track record for giving young players an opportunity, whilst still earning a very, very decent wage? Or do you want a place in the development squad on more money but with much less chance of first team football and the prospect of getting shunted here, there and everywhere on loan.

Our only link is Monty now with them.

Sounds like this Kuol has bloomed within the past few months. Clubs keeping tabs on him from the off could have already been above our price range or pull.

I wouldn't rule out that we weren't aware or interested in him. But like many have said opportunity to go straight to PL your hardly going to turn it down.
